I need a new mascara. Any tips? I've tried lots over the years. My current one is Dior which I like but have also had Ampicils by Lancôme in the past.

After a wow one for the christmas season.

Benefit They're Real is definitely my fav but if you get the MAC prep + prime mascara base coat you can put any old cheapo mascara (I tend to go for the original maybelline ones or Avon Super Shock) over it and it'll not only make your lashes look long and lustrous but it makes it stay on for ages so you won't get panda eyes (...or have to take it off for like 3 days = bonus)

I use Clinique lash power, it's got a fairly little brush so v accurate application, stays on all day, doesn't run or smudge even after crying and washes off with warm water. All good.

Crumblymumbly what's rapid lash? I lost the thread last week about a produc that made your lashes look thicker naturally? I bought revlon lash potion mascara but not very impressed with it. I need a fibre free one as I can't bear the bits in my eyes!

I like Clinique mainly cos its got a v small brush so it gets all the lashes! Think when it's finished ill keep the brush and use it with the 2 other mascaras I have ( Lancôme Hypnose and Max Factor Mastepiece which are v good too..)

Hey AngryByrd... 8 of the same mascara at £23 a pop! £184. Crazy or very rich!

Has to be waterproof for me or people start passing me bamboo shoots! I like the Lancome Hypnose but the key thing is to use Rapidlash to improve your eyelashes. It really has transformed my sparse stumpy eyelashes into something almost passable!

Molton Brown. Been discontinued (along with the rest of their make up) for about 7 years now. Bastards Angry.

the tube ones especially Blinc just don't stay on me.. i end up with the tubes stuck to my cheeks all day where they've slid off! i must have naturally oil making lashes Hmm but at least you can flick them away.. better than pandas.. but i got sick of it so switched to Clinique

Tubing mascaras are awesome. Google them- Blinc, L'oreal Beauty Tubes etc.

They are polymer based and DO NOT smudge, run, anything. You don't get panda eyes when you cry or sweat.

My personal holy grail is L'oreal beauty tubes in the red and white double ended packaging.

Another vote for Lancôme Hypnose here too. I love the Hypnose Drama one too

If you can bear to navigate the sales process, Mary Kay's is amazing. A couple of celeb make up artists have been talking about it (without being paid to do so) and when I've worn it, people have commented on my lashes.

My faves USED to be Lancome - Magnificils, Definicils etc... bit then they changed.

right now I'm erring towards Clinique but Helena Rubenstein do a nice one (Ebay). The others TBPH (to be perfectly honest!) I've found all to be much of a muchness - Dior/YSL Faux Cils etc... and they last what 3 months anyway.

pity some of the high end brands don't seem to do navy anymore. I am almost tempted by NARS and Bobbi Brown as they seem to be my perfect brands right now but where I work - there's not much choice bar dept store and Space NK a trek up the hill. Would like a great chemist brand too.

Ooh really? I did not get on at all with No 7 Fanomenal. Made my lashes stick together weirdly.

I thinki will try Lancôme next based on this.

I rely on Lancôme Hypnose.

Bought myself a Rimmel lipstick (Kate Moss matte collection if anyone is interested, I love it) and it was spend £10 get the green mascara (scandaleyes flex), so I bought a few bits. Next day at work wore it for the first time and three different people commented on my eyes (totally unprompted, independent comments). Massive brush, but I've been quite impressed.

No 7 waterproof for me. I have long lashes, the one bit of my face that is great!, think the fairly sparse brush helps me. Had disasters with Hypnose, 2000 calorie, Rimmel scandaleyes. I think maybe they carry too much product for thick, long lashes. The list of rubbish ones, cheap and pricey, is endless but this finally works for me!
