Where do they buy their clothes?

My mum is approaching 80 but doesn't look or act it! However she really struggles to find clothes she likes, that are comfy but not frumpy etc.
We have finally got through to her that beige/fawn/taupe/cream/pale khaki do nothing for her and she is wearing stronger colours and looks a lot better for it
But she just doesn't get inspired shopping, doesn't have the energy to traipse round all day but isn't into trawling the Internet either,

My mum's 76 and shops at Jigsaw and occasionally East. She likes to check out john lewis concessions as well.

Until a couple of years ago my Mum (now 93) was quite fond of Topshop.

My mum is 75 and is a very slim size 8. She buys jeans from M&S but gets a lot from fat face or white stuff and dresses from phase eight.

Primark, Tesco for ordinary dog walking type days
Local boutique or the concessions to Debenhams for posh.
Or whatever I give her or charity shops.
She is not a particularly good dresser, but never has been. She is 70.

My MIL is v well dressed and is a fan of Gery weber for casuals. I think that older ladies struggle with that sometimes, that you would spend money on clothes that are just for dotting around in, rather than going to a wedding. Also Viyella and Betty Berkley.

House of Fraser is a favourite and it must be a label associated with money and well made. She is also very upset if she needs a size 12 not a 10, and won't buy something in a " big" size. She doesn't care that it might be the cut and no one sees the size. She knows..

She likes m&s as well, twin sets mainly, and carvella for shoes, always low courts or sandals.

She stopped wearing trousers years ago. She took against how her bottom looked ( its all old and thin") and that was that!

She has always dressed the same, sensible skirt, twin set, queens leather handbag - like mother of the bride after the wedding:)

DM is 82, is a big fan of Gerry Weber - she likes to collect clothes! Mostly she buys from Department stores and small local boutiques.

DMil is 77 and is fond of George at Asda and has no real interest in clothes.

Mine is mid 70s and wears M&S basics, jeans, tees, vests, but shops for (sale) cashemere cardis in bright pastels, unusual jewellery and lovely scarves.
Her goto daily outfit (suitable for gardening and impromptu visitors) is M&S bootcut grubby jeans, clogs or sandals, pretty vest or T, Cashmere cardi, funky jewellery, scarf and if it's chilly, down gilet.
Chic and practical.

My mil is 75 and looks very stylish most of the time. She buys a lot in M&S but doesn't mind splurging on the odd item, especially coats. She has lovely ones from Jaegar and Barbour. She enjoys shopping though, and will hunt and hunt for the right item once she decides she needs a new skirt or whatever. I think she looks everywhere but House of Fraser is definitely a favourite.

She is very fond of pink. She has dyed pale orange hair.

Autograph or Coast tops for best which I buy her.

Casual t-shirts/jumpers rest of the time depending on season.

She has UGGs too. She's 76. She likes to spot fakes

Mine keeps pinching my clothes, so Boden, top shop, new look etc. when she buys her own its debenhams and m & s.

My mum is 75 - she shops mostly in charity shops but is a complete snob about it and only buys "good makes". She actually usually looks very stylish and is not averse to being a bit quirky. She does love a Per Una cardi with mixed coloured and shaped buttons tho'

M&S, Debenhams, BHS and my DD1 has just introduced her to Primark which she has taken to with aplomb!

I think my mum needs to head to department stores more. She tends not to spend much on clothes, a hangover from when they were younger and we had very little spare cash. She can afford better quality now and think she should push the boat out a bit and will probably find more.

My DM is 82 and has dressed the same way for as long as I can remember She is not remotely fashionable and is still wearing clothes that she made herself, both sewn and knitted. Other than that, I think it's mainly M&S or Edinburgh Woollen Mill type stuff. Beige features as well as dull prints that she puts with home-made natural colours jumpers
