Hot cloth cleansers and toner

Sorry, probably been done to death but I'm thinking about using hot cloth cleansers and I see that Liz Earle sells a toner alongside her cleanser so should I be using a toner after it?

I'll likely be going for the Superdrug or No7 one rather than the Liz Earle so shall I just pick a toner that sounds like my skin?

Or is the water enough and the toner just an unnecessary addition?

I'm so confused!

I've tried Liz Earles Hot Cloth Cleanser lots of times and while I love the packaging and the smell of her products, they always bring me out in chronic spots.
A simple bottle of witch hazel is a really good toner (and cheap)
I am now using Danne products after a series of strong clinic treatments for adult acne.

What products are you using Cecy? Other than the radiance cleanser.

So it's day 5 of the new routine and seriously my complexion has never looked worse. I've always had blemishes but this is a more overall badness, now I look blemishy, wrinkly, greasy, sallow, just generally awful.

I'm really upset about it to be honest. I'm far from radiant!

I used the radiance one and didn't think it was as good ass the vit e one personally. It stung me a bit so haven't used it again. Still love the radiance day cream though!

I've finally been to Superdrug today and I decided on the radiance one- cant wait to take my make up off later!

I also got a toner, a micellar water to do a first cleanse, 2 packs of cotton pads, a big 400ml elvive shampoo and a 400ml conditioner, a pack of hair grips, a great nude lipstick and the Elnette 3 day straight spray all for £20.

I used to nick DH's clinique for men scruffing lotion and use as a toner... amazing stuff, my pores never looked cleaner

I've been using Alpha H vitamin E oil with fab results but I'm definitely going to try the superdrug one when its finished.
After using high end products for so long it's nice to find some lower priced things which are great to use and so cheap :)

Week give it a go! My skin is good atm but in the winter it'll probably help.

Yes, but the results in the morning are fabulous. I don't mind at night, as I am off to bed so can cope with a lard face. Would hate to do it in the morning though. I like my face to be perfectly matte before makeup appplication.

Ah there was a serum too which I will put on my list! Ok, thanks. That sounds like a lot of gloop, does it spoil the clean feeling after cleansing?

According to the beauty gurus, you use serum first, at night, then oil, then moisturiser (if you need it). So, I slap on ANR, then the Vit E oil and leave it for about half an hour to see if my skin needs anything else. If my skin drinks it up, I'll then layer a night cream on (Pro Collagen marine cream or whatever else I have knocking about).

When does one use oil, instead of moisturiser at night?

The radiant cleanser is VERY like Liz Earle isn't it? Just a nicer smell.

Oh, you've already been into town Valium. I got giddy with all this talk of the Vitamin E products and didn't ready ahead Blush

The Vitamin E oil in the range is also worth a punt! I have converted a few folk in my office to the Vit E HCC and they have been really pleased with it. Whilst you are in Sperdrug today, may i also recommend the MUA eyeshadow primer. Better than Urban Decay, imo.

Cecy, I am allergic to eating kiwi but I have no problems with the Naturally Radiant cleanser. (you are the first person I have met apart from me with kiwi issues by the way)

I think your best bet would be to try both and see which is best for you-even buying both its still under a tenner atm add it's on offer.

It was mentioned earlier that the vit e one is drying bit I have dry skin and find the complete opposite.

valiumredhead · 18/08/2013 21:14

I got the vit e one as the radiance one had sold out. Also noticed that it's twice the size of the Liz Earle one so megga bargainGrin

Which one is best for combo skin- the vitamin E or the radiance cleanser from Superdrug? People are talking about them both as if they are the same thing and I can't keep up. Also does anybody have the full ingredients list?
