Ooh yes I remember! I don't have time for spraying oil these days or wiping up the tiles to avoid death slide situations so I use Aveeno bath and shower oil. It's a body wash and leaves a moisturising film of oil on the skin so super quick.

If you're interested in an ethical brand then The Body Shop is unlikely to do it for you. Owned by l'oreal (animal testing) who are owned by Nestlé (general evilness and pushers of baby milk substitutes to poor parents in the developing world).

Shame, I used to like their make up back in the day :(

Love the bodybutters and hand creams. I get them online when ever there is a sale on.

A lot of it still over priced in my opinion, though. Tiny bottles of shampoo and conditioner for a fiver that arent, imo, any better than supermarket brands.

God I forgot the rainforest shampoo. I bought it in hospital as a treat when I was waiting to have dd2. It's shite! To the point where I'm binning it and the conditioner because there's no point keeping it for spare its unusable on my wavy hair

you can find out here what is BUAV approved, I don't think Clarins is. And I have had all my hair cut off but it's so thick and curly I still need decent stuff for it! And it's still boiling in this weather, bloody, pesky hair.

I love their vit E face care Use the face cream every day. Also regularly the toner, cream wash hand cream and exfoliant

Adore the lemon soap and body butter

Really like the vit C face serrum but it's jolly expensive.

I like it. I can't comment on the ethics, but there's always a deal on, either online or instore, plus their Love Your Body card gets you 20% discount each time and £20 of freebies throughout the year. Plus every time I buy instore I get another voucher for the next month ie £5 off if you spend £25 in August.

I use the tea tree and aloe skin care ranges, and I love the Shea and cocoa butter shower gels (don't need to moisturise too!) and these are often 3 for 2. The peppermint foot range is great too.

I find their stuff is so thin, you need a lot. It's a poor economy to buy stuff that is cheap but doesn't last.

That said I like original source shower gel which is dirt cheap but probably not what the OP is looking for.

I used to rate a lot of their products, but some years ago (slightly predating the sale to L'Oreal) they reformulated some products and started using cheaper and more synthetic ingredients.
So I stopped buying the products and have never gone back.
I like Aveda shampoo and a little goes a long way.
If you know anyone travelling to the US, getting Aveda in bulk from a salon over there works out at at least half the price, if not less (although the pound is weak right now so perhaps the wrong time).

Body Shop is BUAV approved, but they are owned by L'Oreal, who very much aren't (they've been on the Ethical Consumer boycott list for years because of testing on animals).

M&S, Sainsbury's own, Superdrug, Co-op all BUAV approved and much cheaper than Body Shop. I get M&S shower/bath/facial wash stuff (with a bottle of Molton Brown as a treat), Superdrug vitamin E moisturiser and body lotion. Struggling to get good BUAV hair stuff, happy with cheap shampoo but need good quality conditioner and product, so unfortunately have to use non-BUAV stuff for that.

I've just rediscovered the Body Shop thanks to a goodie bag I received at a fashion event recently. I hadn't touched their products since the Dewberry days of the 80s

Currently, I am loving:

Aloe vera cleanser - very gentle but very effective even with heavy eye make up.
Satsuma exfoliating shower gel
Cocoa Butter Body Creme - it doesn't have that sickly smell that you get with Palmers stuff and it sinks in really quickly.

I also had a make over at the event and was really impressed with their eye shadows, eyeliners and mascara.

How is it expensive? I pay roughly 3 quid for face cream on line compared to 11 in the shop. Yes, but in the shop and it's pricey compared to online.

I honestly think you're far better of browsing in the supermarket. Body Shop isn't at all cheap really, isn't especially 'small brand' (though obviously smaller than supermarkets, I know!) and a lot of it smells horrible. My skin tends to flare up so I may not be the best example, but I've had reactions to some of their stuff - I think it used to be marketed as all natural and lovely and full of herby fruity things, but it's actually mostly about as harsh as paint stripper.

Little sizes won't be economical - better to buy big amounts then decant if you must.

Shower gel watery and seems to last about three days, avoid. The Rainforest shampoo and cond widely recommended on here didn't do anything for my dry hair. All the make up I've bought has been good. They're only cheap relative to beauty hall brands though, not cheap like a range at Boots.
