Bra Intervention, Please.

I need some new bras (dieting at the moment) so hoped to get some advice on sizing...

I've read a couple of the previous threads, so hope I've measured properly.

Band measurement: 34 if I pull the tape very tight, 35 if I pull the tape so it's very taut, but with room to wiggle a finger in between, 36 when I fully exhale.

Bust measurement (taken following advice on previous threads about bending over: 42

I've been wearing a 36DD but that's definitely no longer the right fit!

The 30F was definitely the best fit but they didn't have many there, although they had a massive lingerie department. Biggest I've ever seen!

Excellent news! What bras did you buy? I only ask because the 32DD is the same cup volume as a 30E so just wondered how the cups where fitting?

Sorrel I want to thank you, I managed to get to the shops today and tried on a load of bras in debenhams, I couldn't find many 30Fs apart from one which looks fantastic, I also got a load of 32DDs which look brilliant. I would never have considered that size but they all look amazing. Thank ye thank ye

Ok, plunges are not good if you are fuller at the bottom than the top as you tend to fall out of the middle! Balconnette styles are you best bet.

For something plain, try the Cleo Juna and Panache Idina Balconette. For something a bit more special, have a look at the Cleo unpadded ranges especially the Lucy/Bonnie and Bravissimo's own half cups.

thanks! I used to like balcony style but nowadays I'll just be happy with something that fits reasonably. I've heard some friends complain after stopping bf that the top part of each breast is less full so perhaps some kind of plunge style would look better. I'll order in a couple and see. Thank you!

Ooooh! Could someone do me pretty please? I have just measured, I am 30.5in and 37.5in.

I have just stopped breastfeeding and desperately need some nice ish underwired bras, having lived in revolting feeding bras for ages now.

I have a 1.5yo DS who HATES going into shops so if someone could also recommend somewhere reasonably cheap that are true-ish to size where I could buy online? I am happy to buy a few different sizes and return those which don't fit.

OK, you could possibly be a 26 but no one really makes them apart from Ewa Michalak who do custom made bras (the 26" option has recently disappeared from their web site but it would be worth emailing them to check).

I would try a 28DD/E for starters. If the 28 band is too big you can use Rixie clips (from eBay) to shorten the band or actually alter it as per this tutorial.

Some M&S bras are coming up very small in the band at the moment. This bra in a 28F was too tight in the band for my friend who measures about 27.5.

Oh wise bra experts - could I ask for help too please?
I'm currently wearing a 32B which doesn't feel quite right.
I've just snuck upstairs with my tape measure and am measuring 27 underneath and 33 bent over around the fullest part.
By my calculations that makes me a 28DD. Have I worked that out right?

please could I have sports bra advice. I have sorted my day bra thanks and wear a 32f in fantasise Rebecca. I usually go for the max support shock absorber but am open to other high impact support ones. I lots of running jumping etc. should I still go for 32f? I seen to recall something being said somewhere sports bra come up smaller. my 34dd is way too small in the cups and on the tightest fastener. thanks and sorry to hijack.

Hi - I would appreciate some advice too. I am pregnant and have detected that my breasts have grown and would like some advice as I don't really have faith in my local M&S' accuracy.

I am measuring 35 under the bust and 40 around the fullest part of the bust whilst bending over.

Hmmm, I've been fitted at Bravisismo as a 30GG in both the Juna and the Patsy . TBH I seem to be a 30GG in all brands (although some styles just won't work for me no matter what size I try).

Curvy Kate tend to run big in the band and small in the cup.

Fantasise/Freya/Fauve tend to fit bigger than Panache/Cleo/Masquerade.

I was wondering if I could have some advice about sizes in different brands? I've been fitted at Bravissimo as a 30F in a Cleo Juna and a 30E in a Freya half cup (Patsy). So, looking online for other brands (and those on sale...) I was wondering what I would be likely to be in Curvy Kate, Fantasie, Gossard and other brands? Just wondering whether to go for an E or an F... Thanks!

That is useful to know Sorrel. By your reckoning I should be wearing a 30" band but I can't breathe in them. I have found some excellent 32B bras from M & S thanks to your excellent advice.

Halestone, try a 34H/HH and a 36GG/H. The 34s are more likely.

Try scooping in your current bra - you should find some pretty big quad boob appears. I described scooping upthread

Finally measured myself 35 under and 45 over and will need a bra to feed in .

I haven't tried a 30, as I measured closer to a 32 that is what I went with. How tight should the band feel? I just can't imagine wearing a 30, even the 32 felt firm compared to a 34 but I suppose I have been used to wearing them slightly too big.

Can't beileve i used to wear a 36 as a teenager, I was a stone and a half lighter as well, it must have been enourmous.
