I was at a beach today. in ENGERLAND and there were all sorts of shapes and ages wearing bikinis

dont let them brow beat us into only letting 1% of the population " celebrate our curves" Wink

Wear and damn them all!

With tits over a C you need wires IMHO

I went on holiday in 1999 just after s1 was born. Took a one piece. Sensible mate said "take a bikini with the labels on it JUST IN CASE". Of course I got to Minorca and everyone was in bikinis. I wore nothing else.

I give that advise now.

I had a non wire one many moons ago which tied at the front and the tie bit acted like underwire but bot so stiff. It was so flattering but never been able to replace it.

i am a DD and don't wear a wired one elliot

Report
Ilanthe · 10/07/2013 17:20

I looked horrendous in underwired styles, mainly because none of the buggers fitted properly. Tie back stuff was more forgiving as I could get a decent cup size by going up from my usual size and just tying the back tighter.

EdwiniasRevenge · 10/07/2013 17:22

Depends what size C cup you are though.

I am an DD/ E and wires wouldn't be essential.

What is more important is choosing a bikini top based on bra size (eg 32DD/E) as opposed to dress size (eg 14)

yeah underwired bikini's look awful on me as they dig in and make my under boob area look flabby

am only a size 8 how is is that even possible? :S

I know this thread is supposed to be empowering, but the judgey bit about tattoos deflated my balloon!

I got a sun tattoo on my right upper arm when I was 16 (borrowed a friends ID) and twenty years later I feel so embarrassed about it that I never wear sleeves shorter than elbow length. And I can''t consider lasering it because I no longer consider pointless pain to be a badge of honour! It's so annoying.

Feel free to use me as a cautionary tale to any teenage dc's who want to run out and get a tat...

OP - can't you see that your tattoo judginess completely undermined the point of this thread? I have a fit body, but according to you because I have a tattoo will look gopping - well, thank you.

Am I allowed to be equally judgy & say I would rather have a slim body with a tattoo than rolls of flab and no tattoo.

GertrudeMorel · 10/07/2013 20:58

I agree re tattoos being gopping, and I have one.

It's tiny and on my hip, so is very easily hidden and most people don't know I have it. I can arrange a bikini bottom over it.

I had it done on my gap yah when I was in Australia & thought it was cool.

I am thinking about getting it removed. I cringe when I think about it (the tattoo not the removal process).

Love Noddy's bikini btw, but I don't think I'd pay that much.

I've just bought 2 from Fatface - really nice on.

I agree re bikinis. Abroad all ages and shapes wear them and no-one bats an eye. However I'm determined not to make last holiday's mistake though. Ie Don't buy an el cheapo bikini that looks hideous with no support. At least buy one that fits and be honest about the size

I need wires. Well a hoist actually but wires at least.

I converted to bikinis in my mid thirties, when I discovered the joy of Freya bra sized bikini tops. I will never wear a cossie again, too much fabric, not enough support.

Freya, how I love you. My fave one is pink with brown flowers, very surfy looking. Makes me feel like a goddess despite being a stone overweight.

I've just bought a Freya bikini top. Finges crossed it does the job. It's got a lot of work to doBlush

I agree. Think slim trumps tattoo if we have to choose. I'm a size 12. Hardly rolls of flab. But thanks ;)

But if I wore a BIKINI you would see my TATTOO and therefore JUDGE THE TOTAL SHIT OUTTA ME.

So I'm not sure where that leaves me really. I'm torn between a mumu/balaclava combo, and dancing about in the nuddy.

Actually I'm going for the starkers hula.

Lol at tramp stamp. Saw a man with 2 large oval shaped tattoos on back of his calves in our local baths last week. Never noticed his bathers

yay, go starkers, wear your tatts with pride.

The world is full of people who narrow their eyes and judge, best to ignore them or irritate them by prancing about at one with your goppingness.
