freckles. how to cover them?

I have had freckles since really young and although I use spf everyday they are geting worse.
I hated them as a kid and used to rub concealer of my mums all over my face from about 5. (when she wasn't guarding her make up bag) they really get me down and would love to be rid of them but lasering my whole body is out of the question.
I am pale and camoflage make up is always too dark so has anyone got any advice on covering them up?

A fringe might make you feel less self-conscious.
I'm the opposite: I don't have many freckles on my forehead and it looks a bit odd compared to the rest of my (freckly) face, so I would like a fringe for that reason!
I went to Japan years ago and my freckles joined up after 6 weeks there. I looked very orange, as freckles aren't really the same colour as a tan!
It always amazes me that some people just think they can pass comments on the appearance of others (or their children) without invitation.......

Can't believe how rude that woman was to you! Hate all this being pale is unhealthy idea that some people have. People like that are the reason I don't dare wear skirts or shorts in this weather.

Thank you all for all the replies. I have been looking at myself a bit in the mirror today and my cheeks and nose I can live with it I have had these since as long as I can remember its the ones on my forehead and arms that bother me more, I always had a fringe growing up and think a fringe is an option again at some point.

I have had a few weird comments recently. And last week some lady commented about how I was so pale and I would look half healthy if my freckles joined up to colour my skin. I walked away kicking myself for not saying the mn 'did you mean to be so rude?'
will look at a better foundation and powder for when I go out and have picked up a face cream with a higher spf

I love my freckles and am disappointed that they've faded as I've grown older. A result of spending too much time in the office and not enough time outside!
People never believe I'm the age I am and I think the freckles keep me looking younger.

I have them, and so does my teenage daughter. I always think she looks very pretty and youthful with them. Not so sure about me. My SIL always says, very loudly: 'Oh, I see the freckles are back!' whenever she sees me in summer. She has serious issues, though.

Oh and just wanted to point out, Alex Jones who presents The One Show has a lot of freckles on her arms, I think I've read an interview where she mentions them. Also,Jennifer Metcalfe who plays Mercedes in Hollyoaks has a lot of freckles but is always very glam. Its true though, more freckles in films/tv please!

I'm very freckley,I've stopped noticing them on my face and they're not too obvious with BB cream on. Not so keen on the ones on my arms but nowt I can do about it. To be honest I'm so pale that I sort of class my exta freckles in the summer as my version of a tan, they're certainly the only indicator I've been away.lol

Fake tan to blend them a bit, Dermablend to cover the couple that are larger and more irregular in space, deeper coloured and more age-spots than freckles. Then celebrate them - it has taken me 40+ years to say that last part.

I love mine. My 5yo DD is starting to get some on her cheeks now (in spite of being slathered in factor 50 from birth) and she looks so pretty!

I had both my DCs in the summer and have some lovely close-up photos of my sunkissed freckly face next to them as newborns.

I look like that link although I'm blonde and my freckles are brown . I have curly hair too and I was told the other day I wasn't old enough to have children ( I'm nearly 40) .. I lubb my freckles

And Justfornow is quite right very few women on TV or films have visible freckles (may have them under heavy make up)

It was only after watching Spiral with Audrey Fleurot that I realised how few women you see on tv with freckles.

I'm going to add to all those saying learn to love them - I don't have freckles, instead I have pretty bad skin. I would love freckles, I think they are beautiful. It's like the straight/curly hair thing - if you have one you want the other. I bet you are gorgeous, stop trying to cover them and learn to love them!

Failing that, tone them down a little with some gentle mineral make up such as Lily Lolo, it covers just about anything (I can recommend the powder foundation and the concealer). But please don't put loads on, let them show a little

I used to hate my freckles but I love them now and see them as a sign of youthfulness.

I would never mask them as it would make me look overly made up and unnatural. I think there are Fade Away creams, and I have also heard that lemon juice fades them, but I'm keeping mine!.

OP maybe you just don't realise how pretty you are.

I have Lots of freckles and I love them , I think they make me look younger than I am but if I want fill on glamour I use loreal true match mineral make up. Covers them no problem.

I find anything stronger than tinted moisturiser looks ridiculous on me. So I use tinted moisturiser. Freckles mean that 'evening glam' make-up really doesn't work - for me they force a natural look and bright red lipstick or smoky eyes just look wierd. I don't find this to be a problem, just how it works for my millions of freckles. I think with lots of dark freckles, as opposed to an adorable sprinkling on the nose, you're either looking at fairly light make-up, or a heavy mask of the stuff. Learning to love them, or ignore them, is much easier.

I think freckles look lovely. I don't think I even notice really if someone has them unless I stop and think about it.

Thank you all for your advice. I only know my sister with freckles and she was covered as a kid and now they are so pale you cannot see them but I have gone the opposite way.
Regarding the pores I have been having microderm treatments for them.
Only realised today how much my freckles bother me after saying to someone that we booked our wedding for March so they will be as light as they get for the photos.

Concealer, or camouflage makeup such as Vichy Dermablend or Keromask. Dermablend is more like a normal foundation, so the lightest colour might be too dark if you're very pale. Keromask is made for camouflaging skin imperfections like vitiligo, rosacea, unwanted tattoos and so on. They have a fairly good range of colours but you can also mix them yourself.

I only have experience with Dermablend, and if I remember correctly, it does cover my freckles (I only use it as a concealer for spots, not freckles - maybe I should try again at some point), but I've heard good things about Keromask. I do however think that full coverage foundation can look very unnatural.

I do however think it's a pity covering up freckles - I think they are cute and charming.
