I have always had long hair and have tried many styles and products over the years. As you can imagine I have been to the hairdressers hundreds of times and must admit that I am not always happy with the results, but usually manage to style it myself.
Well to get on with my dilema, I went to the hair salon on Monday to have a med brown base colour with light brown slices through, and so when the hairdresser asked what I wanted more of, I replied the base colour with not too many streaks. I also said I did not want to go too dark as I am pale, and she said that any colour would be a little dark until I washed it at home. I didn't want any blonde or yellow tones in the slices so she said they would be toned light brown after the bleach came off.
My hair was washed after an hour or so, then the h/d applied some sort of shampoo toner for the brown slices.
Once dried I could see that the base colour was very dark and there seemed to be loads of thin streaks all over and through the main dark colour. At first glance it looked like I had black hair with grey streaks! In fact the streaks were very, very pale brown, a bit like milky coffee. When I mentioned this the h/d said she had done them a paler colour as once my base lightened up I would still be able to see the streaks, where as if she had done then light brown they would have blended in eventually and I wouldn't see any.
I told the h/d that when she had asked me if I wanted more base or slices that I had replied more base colour!
She looked a bit taken a back when she realised I wasn't too keen and hurriedly finished up, took payment and said thanks.
Now I am wondering what to do as I go on holiday in 3 days time. I don't want to make a fuss, but I did pay quite a lot of money and I don't feel happy. My hair is long, very dark and has lots of very fine light slices all through it which in my opinion are too light for the dark base colour, so I am not sure if I need some warmth adding and maybe something to break up these streaks! Any suggestions please! :-(
