Do shoes worn bare foot ALWAYS hurt you?

Or is it just me? I bought some loafers to wear sans socks and am busy wearing them in. Mate look askance! She never has this. Now I do have skinny long chicken feet so getting shoes that are slim enough is a big deal.

So here I am, wearing them with socks around the house as they pinch on my heels.

AM I alone?

Size 8s, which, since pregnancy, seem to have changed shape even more. My feet hurt so much if I don't wear socks. I also Don't Do Sandals as I hate toes (anyone's, not just mine). I'm still nursing sore fourth toes from my traditional pair of 'comfy work shoes for summer' which I wore on Thursday.

Does anyone else get the inner sole wrinkle, where the soles end up giving you mahoosive blisters? The slightest wrinkle of an inner sole and that's it, they have to go.

I have the same, my wide size 7 which to look at are anything but dainty,
blister in everything.
I only wear clarkes/hush puppies due to blistering/pinching.I feel your pain.
My sister could wear broken glass shoes and not have a problem

Ooh gold ya say?! I am hankering after silver ones too! I shall make do with this pair for now to be sure they are indeed pain free and then I might just have to take another look at the website!! 4 days from ordering from the UK to Ireland is pretty good service too.

I have the same problem, OP. But my feet are broad so a different shape to yours. They are just so delicate! Everything rubs. Usually it is my 4th toe that gets most battered, but flip flops rub on the bar as it heads towards my instep and between my toes!

I was going to buy a lovely pair of tan loafers but was worried about the whole blister thing. Saw a cheap copy in Deichmann which weren't so beautiful but were so soft.
After this thread I'm off to buy the cheapo ones that won't blister me aching feet.
I have a very ugly pair of hiking sandals which I wear every summer- they are so comfy and no blisters. They also balance out my ginormous calves.

So pleased! Mine were very snug and I was convinced the blisters would appear and packed plasters just in case but all was fine. I love my red ones, love my gold ones too...

Well my Saltwater sandals arrived this avo and they are gorgeous! I got the red originals. They go lovely with indigo skinny jeans rolled up and if I get some maxi dresses this year they should go with them too. I have pottered round the house in them for a few hrs now and no rubbing or sore bits but I have been lulled into a false sense of security this way before but I am hopeful these will be my every day of summer shoes now! Fingers crossed..

Foot Silk spray is what you need and use Vaseline for any bits that rub.

Gah. Stepped out today in shoes with no hose for the first time this year, and was doing well for a few hours. But limped home with red-raw balls of my feet. What's that about? The rest of my feet were fine. The shoes were leather-lined, and everything. Surely it can't be time for popsocks?

Well they will hopefully go with my navy skinny jeans, which I wear all year with red/grey/navy/cream/black t shirts. That's pretty much my wardrobe! I hope to buy a few maxi dresses with short sleeves this year too to add to the mix but that's another thread..I'm taller than Alexa and a sixe 12 so a good bit bigger than her but I hope I can carry them off!

If you're hankering after hiking sandals, I highly recommend taking up hiking and going on nothing but hiking holidays. Excellent method of being able to look truly frightful but be disgracefully comfy, yet not elicit any judgy looks. I also want a dog, mainly for this reason, You can wear all kinds of nonsense and as long as you have a dog in tow, all is forgiven.

I've been desperately trying to involve what a wardrobe would contain that would mean those red Saltwater sandals would go with everything in it....I just can't. Surely you'd have to actually be Alexa Chung or Taylor Swift to carry them off?

(I say this as someone who possesses not one iota of funk, and cannot carry anything like that off without looking like a scary child from a horror film).

I can't do flip flops - can't keep them on at the back and can't stand anything in between my toes.... they hurt :(

I always feel so clompy on holiday, plodding around in my varried assortment of padded-style flip flops, whilst the local elegant women trot about on dainty, strappy heels.
