Helena Christensen's Boden hair

Does anyone have this style?

If so, does it take a lot of styling to get it looking dishevelled but lovely at the same time?

I booked an impulse haircut for next week and wondering whether to go for it. I have fine hair but lots of it and it's kind of wavy but in a crap, frizzy way rather than cool and dishevelled.

Also my styling routine is: wash hair, leave to dry, brush...

went to look at Boden website on the strength of the pics in the paper but was relieved to find that all was just as last time I looked and I felt no urge to spend. Her hair is fab and she makes the clothes look amazing.
Jodie, we feel your pain... I bet they didn't even look like Warren Beattie ( certified old person, ref to Shampoo). Eat protein, find a new hairdresser, Cameron at Charlie Miller's in Edinburgh is good and does an excellent ego massage.

Ok so since getting back it's settled into more of a Hillary Clinton but some sea salt spray seems to have helped a bit!

:( Jodie. It will be a Helena in a few weeks, don't worry! Sounds like your hairdresser is stuck in Victoria Beckham circa 5 years ago mode.

I already had very similar hair but got my hairdresser to give me a 'Helena' fringe last night and it looks great Grin should have done it years ago, very very chuffed.

This is what I am aiming for.

When I went to the hairdressers they instead gave me a fucking graduated bob, the utter utter swines. Fringe about 2 inches above my eyebrows, to long straight bits right at the front and a sort of layered short wedge at the back. What I did to deserve that I don't know Sad

Can you hold a saucepan in front of your face and take a photo please?

Right, just got home from the salon and I think I like it! Hairdresser said I actually have quite thick hair and even though he took 3/4 inches off I feel like I've got twice as much hair!

He said to use mousse, then argan oil and rough dry until 80% dry, then use a round brush to blow the ends under, as when it hits your shoulders it'll flick out anyway. Then just use wax or sea salt spray to put some texture into the ends.

He did say that I can do my usual leaving it to dry overnight and scrunch it with sea salt spray in the morning. Plus it'll tie back if I need it to!

Oooh, why have they hidden her small eyes (not her best feature) behind all that eye liner? Looks dreadful.

I think it might be. I'm wearing Crocs as an act of rebellion.

Oh no Cornish will this be the new MN haircut?

MN swears by will be full of HC, parlux hairdryers and sea salt spray!

I took the Boden catalogue with me to the hairdressers last weekend Blush It's a good cut, I also bought Mythic Oil.

I have the scarf.

I am turning into a 100% Mumsnetter.

Think I'm going to take the plunge. My hair can't get much worse as it is, and if I can still tie it back then I have a back up if I need it.

I'll ask the hairdresser lots about styling and products and no doubt get flogged lots of them

Mine is like this but without the fringe (although liking Helena's cut and now inspired to try a fringe). I just put some serum on and blast it with a parlux hairdryer, that's all (my hair is thick and naturally quite wavy - but in a slightly frizzy way, rather than a nice way, but the parlux dries it straighter and just leaves the ends a bit "flicky").

I adore Helena Christenson. She is my number 1 girlcrush of all time.

I haven't bought any Boden since the century began with a '2', but I've spent a lot of time swooning over the current catalogue. DH is worried Grin.

I love her! Gutted she is bodened though. I think yo need thick hair for that otherwise it would take a lot of work to get it bouncy. Freya hair is lovely too but agree both are in the styling

And yes Edith I envisage this haircut will transform me into HC with her high cheekbones and dewy complexion. Oh, and I'd be a size 8 too.

Thanks Elizabeth that would be great to know which one you use.

Midnight thanks for the tips too. I guess I'd need to try a few things to see what worked. Although to be honest 15 mins is loads longer than I spend on my hair now! No wonder it looks crap...

Hi there. I have hair like this. Have had a Helena cut for a couple of years now.

My hair is thick, but quite flat.

I have perfected the art of styling it with the following:

Tigi Blow out balm - this stuff is amazing
rough dry with a parlux hairdryer...gives me lots of volume
Babyliss big hair all over.
Good swoosh of Elnet.

Now, it takes me 10-15 mins in total. Its a really easy style to have.
