Where do tall women shop these days now that Long Tall Sally only sells frumpy tat?

I've not had much money to spend over the last few years, so have only just noticed that there no longer seems to be a shop I can go to that will cater for my long arms and long legs and long body. Years ago Long Tall Sally used to meet my needs, but I'm no longer impressed. Confused

Whose tall and knows where to shop?

I think ASOS's tall range is better these days, haven't checked recently as due to have dc1 next week!

as i have to get at least a 36"inside leg on jeans and find it difficult have not found any to fit in sainsburys or next or new look
the only pair that have fitted me in leg (only just) was a pair of D&G jeans a friend gave me

I have just bought a slim black jersey maxi skirt from TopShop Tall online and it is wonderful.
I feel so different as I am a trouser girl
Only £18.
Have just ordered a grey one which I think is slightly heavier.
And I am 52 Grin

I go abroad. I'm just shy of 6' and originally from the Netherlands where people are a lot taller on average so I stock up when I go home to see my family. If you're having to buy Max Mara to find something that fits, you might actually be cheaper off booking a cheap weekend break in Amsterdam....

godisadj so we are budding on the same stuff :)
I love my eBay alerts!
I buy my stuff from New Look, used to be a tall section in the MetroCentre "flagship" store but they've got rid of it, and dot the tall stuff around (hiding it more like) which is most annoying. The staff in there are embarrassed to admit the tall range section is gone :(
DP stuff looks (IMHO) cheap & shiny, and is too wide, Topshop is too young for my great age of 38 and Next stuff fits oddly!!

Zara trousers are usually very long.

I am 6' with a 35" leg. Next tall range trousers and maxi dresses are too long for me but I do love their tall range and their pajamas are especially good value at around £22 per pair (or half price in the sale!)
I also like H&M for long casual tops.

I have the same problem as you - short legs, long body (I'm 5ft11). American Apparel unisex tops are really good for sleeve/body length. I also own about four of the extra long t-shirts from Isabella Oliver. They are quite pricey but are usually in the sale and in the winter I wear one every single day with a shorter jumper layered over the top.

I have a slightly different problem in that I'm 5'8" and long bodied. 31" leg is ok for me. But tops drive me mad. Lots of ranges have been skimping on fabric to cut costs and many tops stop just below the waist on me. A very bad look as I have a larger bust so need longer tops. I wonder if the "larger lady" shops such as Evans would be better as they routinely do longer lengths in tops? I never wear dresses (don't have one) and rarely skirts. Anyone know which brand (not too young I'm 51) does long tops?

Answering the original questions - I have 36inch leg and can only buy trousers at Top Shop in their tall section. Now I'm pregnant I'm really struggling. Most "talls" aren't 36 inches or are baggy and frumpy (ie LTS). Would love some stylish skinny jeans - currently living in leggings! Any advice greatly received! Thanks.

I'm 5'11" - pretty much most of the high street seem to fit me apart from Zara (sleeves on tops are too short and don't want to buy 2 sizes up and wear them baggy. Leg lengths too short on everything); H&M - sleeves too short and waist on dresses too high. Otherwise all good. Uniqlo brilliant for jean lengths.

Also try land's end for trousers. They let you specify the inside leg length you want your trousers hemmed.

Inzidoodle - HTH I couldn't believe it when i saw them! I was in a hurry so just grabbed one pair. Going back this wkend to see if there are different colours perhaps?! Wink

Mrsbossyboots - go on eBay clothing then put in the search bit: tall & your size. It will come up with results. At the top near the search bit it says "save search" click this and a little box will come up asking you if you want to name search and/or to opt in to emails of new items. Bingo. Shit, that means I'll be bidding against you all now Grin

As for pjs I'm going to mention primark again (promise I haven't got shares in them!) only certain fabrics, the lighter fabrics normally not part of 'sets' but I've got a couple of bottoms with floral pattern on similar to Cath kidson range and they must be about 33-34 inch leg. I just team them with coloured vests with hidden support (to keep breast pads firmly in place as currently bf'ing)Smile

Lts sell them separately...it's the only thing I have bought from them in the last 2 years.

OK, you clever lot, what about long jammies? My lovely MIL tried to get me long PJs for Christmas, and was gobsmacked to be told that M&S no longer do long length PJs trousers. She bought me some LTS ones, but they had to go back as I'm a 14 on top and a 12 in bottoms, so the top was too tight. I'm about 32" inside leg BTW, and in need of some new winter jammies!

I bought some good long trousers at jigsaw (am 6ft1, inside leg 34-35 inch).

7 for all mankind jeans can be long enough, but mega mega pricey.

I have some DP, but very synthetic sheen to them (are cheap, look cheap)

Maxmara are long, but ££££

Next, but are hit and miss

I now just wear skinnies into my boots, or dresses.

Am fed up with rubbish looking trousers.

Bench are good for tops if you have long arms. They have thumb holes in the cuffs, so are designed to cover the hands of people with normal arms. For long armed folk, that's perfect wrist length.

weetabixforce I know you say that you think new Look is too young for you, but they do some great basic t-shirts, with round or v necks, which are a good length ( I'm 41 and shop thereWink).
I am 6ft tall, 33" inside leg and vary between a 16 and an 18. I sometimes find things in M&S (not very often) and have bought jeans (again basic jeans) in New Look which do leg lengths up to 36.
