Mine doesn't like my leggings or my oversized sunglasses and has forbidden me to buy a jumpsuit.

You?

Anything that is obviously new. He does a good catbum face. I do strategic wardrobe rearranging so that I can pull something out and claim that I've "had it for ages". He also loathes my bobbly jumpers (I love them). The more bobbles, the cozier they are IMO.

I have a long list of things DH dislikes ( basically anything comfortable, practical demure floral or warm or flat if footwear )- the challenge is to find things that suit both our tastes!!

just asked dh and he said 'nothing' - apparently my fashion sense has improved 10,000% in the last year. i am pleased with this, as i've been working hard to improve it.

the last thing i owned that he loathed was an orange fluffy cardigan. tbf he was entirely right, i have no idea what i was thinking.

DH hates my trackie bottoms. I don't blame him really.

My DH absolutely hates (and no doubt the S&B regulars will agree!) my Paul's Boutique handbags. He says they're for chavvy 'adventurous' teengaers, and I am a 30 year old professional Grin

I think they're a bit funky, and add interest to my dull classic wardrobe.

I make a point of using my most garish one when out with him Grin

No, Pop, they don't do that thank goodness!! He's banned from wearing them for anything other than playing tennis though, otherwise I have warned him they will be burnt meet with an unfortunate accident. :)

Snickering at rustling trousers. Are they tearaways too? The ones with the poppers that can be ripped off in a hurry? I accidentally on purpose gave DH's pair away to the Salvation Army. He still hasn't forgiven me.

I have a fab maxi dress with a floral pattern on it. I love it. Dh thinks I look like a granny in it. Ditto my navy pea-coat.

I wear them anyway to piss him off reinforce my independence.

Can we say what he wears that I hate?
His Adidas shiny tracksuit bottoms - they rustle and the material is disgusting. And some dodgy old pleather jacket that he bought from a charity shop - it has fake sheepskin lining as well and he just looks like a complete used car salesman (Arfur Daley) in it.

My wax jacket (fake barbour thing). He hates it. Says I look like a tramp in it (it's well worn loved Grin)

Apart from that, I think he's mostly not bothered or likes what I have. He does comment if things are a touch on the tight side though, which is probably a good thing. Blush

He notices shoes; he complains that I wear flats too much (I'm much shorter than he is), but then once experienced me in very high heels for a friend's wedding, and hasn't complained as much since (I spent pretty much the whole time suggesting that we sit down)

But - he is French, so that might affect why he feels free to comment on clothing and his mother does it a lot. She refuses to let his father out of the house if he's badly dressed.

I have a pair of red Kicker Hi Boots that I used to wear all the time.DH doesnt hate them, but he does titter to himself if I wear them.

He has a pair of velour Nike training pants which I hate. Luckily he is embarrased by them so he doesnt wear them outside of the house.

He either loves everything I own not bloody likely; I hate some of it myself or just isn't that bothered. He will step up to the mark and discuss/pass opinion on clothes when asked though.

Nothing - as far as I know! He isn't too bothered about clothes and fashion, and doesn't usually comment on what I'm wearing - occasionally will say 'you look nice in that' (e.g. on the rare occasion I wear a dress!), but has never criticised anything.

I have a phase 8 t shirt that apparently looks like something his mum would wear!
And he hates all wrap over tops and dresses, they make everyone look fat.

Sancerre. Are we married to the same man? DH would have me in cashmere sweaters and "smart" jeans with penny loafers and a silk scarf to accessorize.

He loathes almost everything I wear (I lean in the boho direction) - though I once asked him to tell me what I had in my wardrobe and he couldn't name a single thing....He has also described one scarf that I own as a "crime against fashion", although I've received numerous compliments on it whilst out and about.

I bought a brightly coloured dress after realising that I wore mainly black and white.
It is sleeveless and above the knee with ruffles down the front my dh calls it the clown dress.
Also any jogging bottoms, pjs, lounging clothes that I wear around the house. Dh would prefer me to be in heels and a baby doll but I tell him to jog on.

My OH hates 'sensible' shoes. I have some shoes - Clarks flats, and Rocket Dog etc - that he says look like 'special shoes'. If we go into a shoe shop he'll roll his eyes and say 'I know exactly which ones you are looking at, and they're horrible' Grin

So yep, obviously, I bought the dark purple, flat wedgie Mary Jane's Grin

He hates them....

Well, a girl can't wear heels all the time.

Report
BleughCowWonders · 29/08/2011 05:29

has never commented apart from 'that's nice'. :) Might notice a bit more cleavage than normal, but just grins.
Has a look of blind panic when asked directly about any clothes/ hair/ shoes ...

Likes anything classically stylish, ie, not in fashion.
Dislikes anything out of the ordinary and so probably in fashion.

oh yeah - harem pants - I don't think any man likes them! I have one pair, which if I say so myself actually look pretty damn good - got them on sale at Philip Lim so the cut and material are very good ;) he thinks they're awful but all my friends love them too so I wear them when out with the girls as a compromise :)

PS do your DH/DP notice your shoes?? Mine seems blind to them ;)
