My son (autistic, not a chance he'll let me near them) has the most magnificent crop of blackheads just inside his ear. Thick, glossy, partially extruding 2mm diametered beauties. I see them taunting me every time I sit beside him. God I'd love to get em. The only time he let me get a blackout out (of his nose that time) it was about 5cm long and NEON GREEN. Oh why must life taunt me so???

My daughter used to get them in the crease of her armpit. She is ASD so I'd wait until she was asleep to get them out.

What I do recall, is her stirring in her sleep, thumping me hard and going back to sleep. She could not remember a thing the next day.

My 13yo DD has compelling ear spots. She won't let me near them, and I am torn because I do want to teach her about body autonomy, just not when it comes to ears.

I've wondered that myself Nannypinks, ds2 is autistic (along with other disabilities, jesus his ears are disgusting, got so bad they had to be syringed a few months ago, it wasn't easy for him, but I hung on in there and the nurse let me hold the cup that it all flooded into, it was glorious Grin

On the blackhead ear problems, I didn't cut up one of those strips that are used for the nose and stick it in his ear, no way did I do that Blush

It didn't work great to be honest

baily we have a verruca too but have to let the chiropodist deal with, she told me to leave it alone

Totally off topic but is excess ear wax a thing with autism spectrum kids? Noticed really gunky ears in two generations of my lot, both have issues...

I remember DS having the most glorious spot on his nose: it was so large you could almost see it pulsating. He wouldn't let me near it and I used to have these detailed fantasies about how I'd creep up on him when he was asleep with a really, really sharp sterile needle, puncture it and watch the contents burst out. Sadly I never did get to put the plan into practice, and I still feel the loss years later.

Oh poor you Grin

I have a ds with ASD too, he once had a verucca that was positively ripe for digging out. He eventually did and it was glorious, left a clean hole and everything, but he wouldn't let me film it

My 3 year old has a crop just inside his ear. I have to look upon them as forbidden fruit as it's hard enough getting him to let me legitimately clean his ears without going at those on the sly too...

I’m jealous. My NT DS14 has the most glorious, juicy pair of blackheads under his eye. He won’t let me near them 😡. I have failed as a parent.

@Shockers my DS knows all too well when I grab a biro and remove the nib. Why won't they let me get rid of those juicy blackheads?

God I feel your pain. DS, also autistic, gets very waxy ears that he won't let me near.
Torture.

Use the end of a ballpoint pen with the inside bit taken out. Place the opening over the blackhead and press. It’s magical.

I'm a hefty bird tbh. This will be a dangerous and exhilarating undertaking.

That’s the one.

I wonder where one could purchase such a thing...

Just make sure you attach your winch to a beam.

What’s the name of that stuff they put on a pad and put over people’s nose and mouth in films to knock them out?

I’m not suggesting you use it of course...

He sleeps on a high bunk. I could only gain access if I went full Mission Impossible and winched down from the ceiling.

Does he sleep deeply?
