Julie has published her second book about her son Christopher who has a severe learning disability, autism and challenging behaviour. In an attempt to raise awareness of Kanner autism and severe challenging behaviour she wrote her son's story last year. The book is primarily a story of love and of a determination to remain together when the only alternative offered was residential care. It also details the fight to secure support services and ends with winning a Stage 3 Complaint Hearing against the local authority. Despite the successful outcome of the Hearing no improvements were forthcoming and so she decided to continue her son's story as he entered into adulthood to reflect the constant battle for services and the impact this has had on family life.
