Our 8 week old seems to have colic and discomfort with wind and his bowel movements. The cranial osteopath has recommended probiotics as he was also born my c section. We are already using coleif and infacol, does anyone have experience of probiotics?

Protectis by biogaia is for babies but i’m not sure how young. Was recommended to me by gastro Prof at great Portland - but it was for my son who is not a baby. Definately recommend some probiotics though - especially for c section children and those who have had antibiotics

We used optibac with my son who was also a Colicky/windy csection baby. It turned out to be a dairy intolerance in our case (it was passing through my breastmilk at the time-who knew!)... it all resolved itself by 4 years old. I would be tempted to try cutting out dairy for a week or two or ask your dr to give you a dairy free formula to try if he’s on the bottle. If it doesn’t work no harm done....

Optibac for babies and children-very good

I’d personally steer clear of Yakult because of the ingredients like maltodextrin and flavouring

Yakult really helped with colic here
