Adrenal stress and autism???

My Ds who is possibly on the spectrum, (awaiting a multi disciplinary assessment) has food allergies however I have recently noticed that he has had reactions ( blotchy face with hives around eyes ) when I know he has not had or come into contact with food he is allergic too and it has been at times when he is stressed -he goes into meltdown mode if he has to wait his turn, sharing with others or if I raise my voice. Well it has just got me wondering. Anyone with any experience of this???

He is 2 and half and I give him chlorphenamine liquid in the morning and then I can give it once more in the day if he needs it. I have never heard of an ioniser, will have a look into that. I don't line dry but never thought about changing clothes when we come in, a bit of a pain but if it helps him it will be worth it. We had a terrible summer last year with his allergies which was what led to us wondering whether he had autism as the symptoms of his allergies seemed to enhance his behaviours if that makes sense. I guess I need a trip to the GP to discuss the best medicine and dosage for him. Thanks for your advice.

Thanks Polter I have already started him on a daily antihistamine due to hay fever allergy too. I guess I just need to try to manage his stress levels better then and maybe not raise my voice too much . He often wakes in the middle of the night very irritable too, runny nose and itchy eyes, I keep his room as dust free as possible and change his sheets twice a week, no carpets, no pets
Do you find taking the antihistamine daily for your allergic urticaria works? I give it to him in the morning but he may often have a reaction to something later in the day.

I would just like to add that I am a big lurker on here of late and feel a bit selfish for asking questions for myself while not replying to others concerns, however I don't feel I have enough experience to offer any advice at the moment, I am sure I will with time
