I've read a lot about bad schools on here but am really seeking advice on how the good schools successfully deal and avoid meltdowns in boys who are showing all the signs of HFA. What typically happens with my sons is that what starts as a relatively minor incident escalates and escalates until physical violence. The triggers this week were (i) Getting a question wrong in a maths test - teacher had said question wrongly then corrected herself - son wrote answer to first version and was marked wrong. (ii) Playing tig in the playground when the other children start changing the rules. Both have resulted in my children being excluded. My first son is back to school tomorrow but I envisage having to pick him up by lunchtime unless more successful strategies are put in place. Would be grateful for any ideas that I can sugggest to school on our reintegration meeting.
