Looking for school for dd1,aged 10. Been in mainstream primary but not going to cope with mainstream secondary. Will be at primary until 12 and a half because she has been kept back a year and because of when her birthday is. Anyone know about special needs schools in devon? She has a rare chromo disorder,a.d.d, developmental delay and some behavioural problems. She is at around a 7yr old level educationaly and hasn't really improved for a couple of years now.

Ellen Tinkham in Exeter have a nice swimming pool and an afterschool club- which the dc of someone I know adores and is mysteriously "well enough for school" on club afternoons.
Seem to do a fair number of trips out and about to panto etc

Got a rough idea of my options - just wanted to know what they are actually like iyswim. Think we need to be looking at 2 but i'm not sure dd would be considered severe enough as in alot of ways she isn't. Tried speaking to the education department and they were no nelp at all. Just kept telling me it was too early to be looking at options other thn mainstream! She's got a statement - not sure how much,i think there are about 2 mornings a wk where she doesn't have a one to one.
