ADD / ADHD / Enlarged Tonsils / Obstructive Sleep Apnea / Homeopathy

We're waiting for an assessment but have been scouring the internet for ways of alleviating ADD type symptoms. I found information on how obstructive sleep apnea mimics the symptoms of ADHD in some children - this can be caused by enlarged tonsils (which my son has had for many years). www.stanfordchildrens.org/en/topic/default?id=obstructive-sleep-apnea-90-P02026

I then saw that homeopathy can reduce the size of tonsils. Apparently these can be caused by a low grade infection or by reflux. www.cottnat.com.au/shrink-kids-swollen-tonsils-naturally/. My son had reflux until he went to a chiropractor/cranial/physio at age 3.

But.... I wonder if there is a little reflux left that is causing the enlarged tonsils and causing him to waken at night. He wakens 6 nights out of 7.

Does anyone else's child have enlarged tonsils and behavioural issues?

Has anyone tried homeopathic remedies to reduce tonsil size?

I took my son to a homeopathist / acupuncturist who gave him silica which reduced one tonsil somewhat within 5 days. We've then tried a stronger silica, Psorium and ?-Bar but to no avail. I can't keep paying £40 per session to try homepathic remedies, so I've Googled and am starting him on Nux vomica today to see if it's the reflux that is causing the problem and I have Phosphorous to try if that doesn't work. There are more remedies to try after that.

My GP has referred my son to the ENT dept. as she was surprised by the size of his tonsils... and there has been a study done on how ADHD symptoms disappeared following the removal of tonsils on some children. www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4261322/ But I'd rather try and reduce the size of tonsils using homeopathy, obviously.

If anyone has any experience of these issues, it would be great to hear.

My DS had tonsils and adenoids removed age 4 (by the NHS) due to sleep apnoea (at the worst times he was waking up due to not breathing every couple of minutes or so). Before the operation his moods and behaviour were terrible - he would wake up and be roaring and raging, and it would be really difficult to get him to eat his breakfast. I have to say this changed almost overnight after he had the surgery, and he became a lot calmer. However, from very early on he has always been very impulsive and what one would possibly describe as very physical or hyperactive, and he remains to be like this, many years after his surgery for apnoea. He is much older now, and received a diagnosis of ASD a while ago.

Not sure whether any of this is of any help to you, but as an aside, I always find my son's behaviour/activity/emotional regulation/processing capacity very linked to how much sleep he is getting, and whether he is hungry or not (plus lots of other things)....

Professor Christian Guilleminault is the world leading specialist on paediatric sleep disordered breathing and behaviour problems.

You might also look into myofunctional therapy. I've not tried it, but heard good things about it.

No but dd has adhd symptoms and had many ear infections age 3-5yo. She has a soy allergy so i think reflux. Piriton stopped the refluxy cough.
Also her triggers is food colouring especially red so cochineal and the one in calpol.
She gets worse when tired.
Another thing that seems to cause adhd behaviour is asthma maybe also the bad sleep
