Sleep

From 2 naps to 1 nap

Just wondered what age is normal for babies to go from 2 naps to 1 nap per day. My 12 month old has suddenly dropped down to one nap a day which he usually takes late morning. Some days he will only sleep for 40 mins or so and that's it till he goes to bed around 7.

Other days he'll have a very short nap in the car/buggy in the morning (10mins or so) and then if he wakes up due to us arriving home or getting out of the car will go off again for an hour to an hour and a half in the afternoon.

He usually sleeps around 11 1/2 hours at night. If he only really has 1 proper nap, is this enough total sleep for his age?
Thanks

mine shifted at about a year old - he wasn't moved from the baby room at nursery to the toddler room until he'd made that switch himself.

ds...dropped the morning nap/....
he's tired at lunch..but he sleeps straight after lunch from 1pm to 3pm...

if sometimes I'm out and he sleeps in the morning in the car or pushchair...then he won't sleep much in the afternoon.....

My DD is all over the place with naps now after being a two-nap kinda gal for ages. She's 12 mo as well. Today she slept for 2 hours in the morning and that was all, but she was pooped by 7 when she went to bed. Definately on the cusp!

My LO dropped to 1 nap around this age. Before she had 2 naps, between 10-11am ish and 2-3/4ish. It was hard as she tried to sleep over lunchtime so we had to move it back later each day and now she goes @1-3pm each day. I found this time easier regarding breaking up the day (or the afternoons were hell) and helps me do other stuff I need to do.

oh yeah, if jess has a morning nap, its usually at about 9.30am and then the afternoon one at 12.30

if she holds out she often has an early lunch and goes down at about 12

My DD sounds the same as Jess, but you have to leave at least 2 hrs between the naps if she has 2 IYSWIM

Jess is 11 months... she will either sleep for an hour in the morning and an hour after lunch or hold out until after lunch and have 2 hours in the afternoon. She goes to bed at about 8pm and is up between 6 and 7 in the morning - hth!
