dd is almost 2 and since 1 has napped 2-4 in her cot every day. by 2pm she is yawning her head off, stumbling around bumping into things, whinging and will lie on the floor and get a cushion off the sofa so i think she definitley needs a nap.
But, she then starts bouncing in her cot, crying every time i leave the room, falls asleep on my shoulder but cries if i put her down, it has just taken me over half an hour to get her to sleep.
if she wakes up she cries and if i pick her up she falls straight to sleep but wakes up again if i put her down.
if i get her upp and take her downstairs she cries and lies on my lap for an hour so i cant get anything done.
my friend has a 4 year old and said at thsi age she kept her dd awake even though she was cranky and then put her to bed earlier at 7pm (which sounds nice as dd doesnt sleep till 9pm)she said its a phase you have to battle through to drop the nap but i dont want to drop the nap as i iron etc.

we go away tomorrow so she may miss some naps as we will be out so i will see how she copes and maybe if she misses a nap she will go to bed earlier.
she sleeps 9pm till 7am so 10 hours, then 2 in the day.
