My LO is just over 6 weeks old he has been sleeping in his moses basket of a night (which I have to carry up of a night with him inside it) but he is getting too long for it now and also too heavy for me to carry him up in. Is it safe for him to go in the travel cot thats in our room? It has the upper level so he won't be down low. Xx

Seen argos were charging £27 for one! Got some from Asda for £13 0-6months its a good fit around his neck and arms so no worry of him wiggling down into it. Fingers crossed he has a good 1St night sleep in the cot 👍

They are pricey but a good investment. Check supermarket ones are 100 per cent cotton. I got pirate ones for my dd because they were on offer. She doesn't appear scarred for life as a consequence Grin

I use the grobags too, from about 3 months. But they're silly expensive and I found the supermarket ones as good or get them from eBay. My ds (9 months) is a terrible wriggler so it didn't really matter where I put him in the cot! The only thing to check is that your baby's head and arms can't slip into the bag and you're good to go Smile

Hi OP I used grow bags for both of mine from 3 or 4 weeks ad they were both well over 12lbs by then.

Once you are confident that his or her head won't slip inside it go for it 😊

.My dd slept better once she was in a cot. I put her feet near the bottom and tucked her in with sheets/ blankets until she was big enough for Grobags.

Thank you both for the reply. I know to put him down at the bottom to stop him wriggling but shall I put him in the middle or near the side of the cot? Which is safest?

Sounds fine to me. Our ds is a very long baby and only lasted 8 weeks in a Moses basket. We used our pram carrycot downstairs and his cot upstairs. In fact he slept better and for longer in his cot, I think it was due to it being stable so he could wriggle to his heart's content! Do whatever works for you!

Sounds fine to me if it is stable. We slowly put our dd in moses basket in cot. And then in cot at least for daytime sleep. Ours grew out of moses basket very quickly.
