dd3 has gone to not sleeping again. she has been ill which is part of the reason, but last night she was up screaming and wanting me from 2-7am. i am shattered.

how is it going with ds2? i need some support to go through CC again. though getting her to sleep isnt the issues, it keeping her asleep.

Hi girls - just want to add my sympathy and empathy. Dd2 not sleeping well either at the moment. Keeps waking at 2am and won't go back to sleep for 2 to 3 hrs.

Am a zombie today.

There must have been something odd about March 2005!!

Can't face CC. Have a sneaking suspicion that the bad sleeping is a direct result of still breastfeeding. Don't see how I could stop that without a great deal of heartache though.

Keep telling myself it won't last forever...

ok, she finally went back to sleep ay 12.30am. And she was then awake at 2am for 20mins and i was good, and didnt bring her into my bed for an all night buffet. she got up at 6.50am for a feed, then was up for the day. despite the late going to bed for me, and the early start i dont feel that bad as was only awake once instead of 4-5times.

Ok he is in bed.

Between now and Wednesday night: when he wakes, I will go in and settle him for a few minutes. Early in the night, he is generally reasonably ok to settle within 5 minutes. Not letting him cry. If it becomes a situation, I will try to give him a short feed in his room then put him back to bed (have been bringing him in bed most nights recently though). If I am too shattered, I will bring him inbed for a short feed. If I am still awake when he drops of, I will try to put him back in his cot. If not, if I wake later and he is asleep in my bed, I will return him to his cot. 'Morning' is siz at the earliest.

Thursday.
Bed as usual - feed and cot. After that it is 'controlled crying for wusses' .

When he wakes, I will go in and speak quietly to settle him, not staying in the room longer than around 30 seconds. I have bought a night light for him as he hates a dark room. I will then leave and shut the door. I will start leaving him for 3 minutes. Subsequents returns will last 30 seconds longer each time. I will not leave him longer than 15 minutes crying if it comes to that. Each time he wakes, I will do the same.

That is The Plan chez popsy
