This is the one I have and it'sbrilliant. The best investment, dd is 20 month old and we are still using it.

Sorry milkyman, only just seen your question. This is the one we have. Not cheap at all I'm afraid - we justified it because we were given just about everything else we needed for the little man by relatives. It has an infra red camera which gives you a black and white picture in the dark.

We have a Motorola one and I love it.

I laughed at my husband when he bought it saying it was ridiculous and that we barely needed a monitor at all as our house is so small. However, it is brilliant to be able to see what the little one is up to. Sometimes he's crying but I can see from his face and body that he is about to fall asleep any moment so it stops me from going to him when he doesn't need me and when I would probably have just hindered his going to sleep. I can also see when he's absolutely not about to fall asleep and does need me. These don't always sound different from each other.

I can also see when he's quiet but not actually asleep and so on. I feel like I've got to know his sleep patterns and habits better by being able to watch him falling asleep and waking up.

Thanks Dorisshutt :-) Must admit ds is on same floor as us so life is easier.

Andcake that isn't PFB - having both like I did is PFB! Blush

In my defence, we got the Angelcare because I was paranoid, and the video monitor because DS sleeps on a different floor to us, and has a habit of shouting in his sleep - he doesn't wake, but I do, and used to knacker myself running up to a DS who was actually still asleep.

I looked into one but couldn't really see the point. In the end after ds was born and I was too paranoid to sleep incase he stopped breathing I got an angelcare movement monitor which I love. And yes he always slept in the same room as us until 6 mo but he is a pfb after years of infertility so I know I'm a bit previous :-)

We have a Samsung monitor - this one - now no longer made.

Think it uses infra red for low light - it's a bit grainy and blue at night, but still good for seeing DS.
