Weekend break; Help??!!

A group of friends and myself are looking to leave our babes behind and go skiing for a long weekend next March, but we are having real trouble finding accomodation that will put us up from Thurs- Sun, the first weekend in March. Does anyone know anywhere where we are likely to get in? At this stage of the game we are not too fussy where it is, as long as the transfer from the airport isn't too long and there is decent skiing close by. There are 6 of us in total. Any suggestions very gratefully received!

Thanks everyone. Very helpful. I think we are getting there, as it looks like we have a hotel sorted in Chamonix. Just waiting for final confirmation. So hopefully, snow... here we come!!

Like LIZS said focus on a resort and contact the tourist board direct. I manged to book 3 nights in St Anton last Jan with no problems.

For Austria suggest you look at resorts close to Salzburg or Innsbruck. Lots of the resorts are reachable by train, many hotels will do an airport or railway pickup.

Try www.tiscover.at

Pick a resort or two and email their tourist office - they should be able to send you a list of possibles to contact.

When we did this jsut booked cheap fligths to geneva then found accom privately from the internet, we went to Megeve in france but form Geneva you can get bus transfers to lots of diff. resorts. Do a google search for geneva airport site and all info is on there.

Morzine is a great option too as only a 1hr transfer and a biggish town so lots of diff hotels.

Also try Snowbeds or European Ski Weekends

Ski Weekends go to the Chamonix valley and Three Valleys - and by coach if you really want to keep the costs down!

Thank you. Have emailed ski2, so hopefully they will get back to me soon. The unique holidays appears to be holidays in the Uk, so no luck there. Anyone else with more suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

You could try Ski2 for flexible holidays including weekends which don't break the bank.
