Should we be a ZERO TROLL-Tolerance site?

Should we combat trolling?
Or are there certain types of trolling we like?

Should we start reporting all posts we gather are trolls?

Should we stop feeding the trolls and silence them to death or give them their fun?

????

Disclaimer:
I do NOT assert that Lapin has ever trolled even once, she is just an example of a well known and well loved poster which is hard to believe could ever troll.

Aah see I don't know what I think of this... I used to have another name and everyone constantly shouted troll at me, whereasnow Ive changed it it never happens except when I post something which seem ssensible in my head and sounds terrible out LOL.

But I did see the bondage thread last night and I am sure that person has trolled before but alongside a long term poster.

good god, did I miss yet more trollling???

I don;t have any idea on how to police it all, but I do think that we are all, as a site, rather savvy anyway regarding spotting them.

well, mostly.

it is so hard not to be supicious tho of certain threads. the fun stuff is a giggle and what we all need at times, but then there is stuff that starts of okish and then over time becomes very obvious (EC for eg), and then there are posters that are clearly in need of help but seem to get very very addicted to the attention and so more and more outlandish things start happening, or even just normal stuff but too much too often and resolve too quickly to really have been true in the first place IYGWIM.

I love MN tho, and all its quirks and the personalities here. It would be a shame to fix what ain;t broke IMHO.......and it isn;t really, we are just going thro a 'blip', which all sites must go thro at times. it will settle down again soon enough

I reported your personal attack LL

I see the post is gone.
Now everybody will think that lapin said something rude, or bad, or indeed attacked you.

thereturnofwonderwoman. You namechange, post something that can be perceived as inflammatory to Lapin, she replies, and you have the gall to report her "personal attack"?

YOU are a fine example of what this debate is really all about.

Yes, I think so. And I believe Lapin suspected as much.

This is a farce!

Yes you're right guys it is/was same person who's very persistently been trolling recently to no real effect. All a bit tedious.
