Mental Health Vs Feeling Depressed

Has changing the name made any difference?
And in what way?

I know i am a moaning old codger but i don't like the new name. I feel i can't post there if i feel a bit down now as i don't have actual depression

or is that the point?

I don't think that was the intention - I think it was to make the topic more inclusive for other MH issues - anxiety/bipolar/phobia etc.

I suppose a heading of mental health will open it to a wider "audience" (can't think of a better word right now)

maybe if you are "just" feeling low/down get a suppport thread on something like chat going?

but mental health is a parrallel with pohysical hesa;th so yiou would happily post about a cut that didnt heal or might be ingected a headache or a heart transplant so if you are feeling down then you can still post in mental health you dont have to be seeing a psychitiatrist

i think

i did badger for this topic lol

it just feels a bit "official" now zippi.

previously if i felt a bit 'meh' i could post and have some decent kicks up the bottom advice and i could hide it if didn't feel strong enough in myself to help people really low

never mind, ignore me, am in a strange mood. I can understand(now) why mental health was added so thank you for clearing it up

btw, wasn't suggesting that op shouldn't still post in that section, just saying, if she now felt uncomfortable, then she should ask for support in a different topic.....
as I felt op wasn't worried about the "STIGMA ATTACHED TO MENTAL HEALTH PROBLEMS" but was worried that maybe her problems wouldn't justify posting under that heading...but I could have misunderstood, of course!

oh i underdstand exactly what you mean mom

its a hard one

i think the special needs section can have the same feel

a sort of ...do i fit in here

i did wonder if fewer people were posting about depression now it was under mental health

when it was feeling depressed the problem was that people assumed your main problem was depression or post natal depression when it might have been something different

i hope people would post about any kind of feelings in mental health

sorrymy tyoing uis poor i am trying to do some research for a job and tired

Maybe there could be a sister topic to the loathesome "Am I being unreasonable?" How about "Can I have a hug?"

Much nicer.
