Because our brand new book How to Blitz Nits and Other Nasties, published by Bloomsbury, is out now!

It’s a pocket guide on how to defeat ten common childhood nasties, from the dreaded nits , to threadworm to how best to extract foreign objects , written by our very own @IonaMumsnet and based on the wisdom of brilliant Mumsnetters, so thank you Flowers.

You can buy a copy over on Amazon or visit the Bloomsbury website for a 35% discount for Mumsnetters - just enter the code NITS at the checkout and do let us know what you think.

I was scratching throughout reading the book, but pleased I have it for when I need it. Some great tips from other mums and advice on how to deal with it.

I could have done with this book a few years ago when my daughter was constantly getting nits!! Just received my copy last week and at first glance it looks hilarious 😂 thank you!

I love the little nits on mumsnit.

Well, I don't. I wasted too much time making sure that I wasn't about to log into a hacked site. B**y stupid idea, IMHO.

I hope the book clears up once and for all whether or not you can breath in threadworms eggs which float in the air.....the pharmacist in Boots proper laughed at me when I told her I thought I might have breathed some in and refused to sell me any tablets.

Seems a bit money grabbing honestly. Selling people their own work.

This is the kind of junk book I get at Christmas that goes straight to charity.

I remember the nursery worker who stuck a clove of garlic up her bum, after eating garlic loaded lentils in an attempt to rid herself of threadworm...I do hope her advice is included in the book Grin

Ok, I've bought it...although I know perfectly well how to get rid of nits quickly and effectively.

I'm obviously just a sucker Grin

"Not quite sure why you'd buy a book for cash lifted from a site you can access for free."

You could say that about pretty much every travel guide, first aid book and even recipe book (Jamie Oliver's sales go up every year and his website is comprehensive) - people like the curation and an editorial tone of voice to make a manageable product out of the Wild West of the internet. Common publishing practise and if not for you, give it a swerve :)

do let us know what you think

I think a fool and her money are soon parted - why would anyone buy a book of collated social media comments? confused

Exactly!
Surely, we would just use the search function?

Has anyone read the book? I'm just worried if there are members posts in their people might work out my real identity next time I got itchy bottom

Now that Ive stopped laughing at some of the replies.

As I would suggest cheap condition and comb through everyday! Free leaflets of treatment regularly given for free in child's book bag

With itchy bum take one tablet followed by another in two weeks, again lots of free advice given.

Is this book free like stuff get in bounty packs?
