Mobile site still freezing on my phone

Just gave it a break for a week hoping that most of the shitness would have been ironed out, tried it again, tried to post and the site just freezes if I try to post. Endless spinny wheel of loading but no load.

You have made the mobile site unusable for me and thousands others for the past ten days. I mean literally unusable, not just annoyingly crap. What the fucking fuck were you playing at? This mobile site is a total pile of shit. Sorry, but it is. All the crap changes to functionality were bad enough, the knock on effect on the desktop site was annoying, but this is actually unusable. I can't use the desktop site on my mobile as it's too small so I can't use it. Pissed off.

Argh I now hit a new problem. Having to keep changing the address to www. Rather than m. When I want to post.

@EhricLovesTheBhrothers

Yes, I probably did mean to be so rude. I might not have been so rude if I had been less cross but to find that after ten days the site was still unusable ( and yes, if I can't post I can't use it) made me really pissed off.
To mnhq, I do apologise for my extraneous swearing if not the sentiment. I still think it was bizarre to roll out a site that had so very many flaws and I'm not sure I accept the excuse that they weren't anticipated, really, testing should have ironed out most of them.
I'm about to test the change to the URL, fingers crossed!

Hi Ehric, thank you. We do understand your frustration.

We did do countless rounds of testing and with many users of varying types on lots of different devices but unfortunately there were some things we didn't anticipate and others we couldn't fully uncover until the fuller user base was trying it out. All that said we acknowledge the timing wasn't ideal and we could have more responsive in the first 24 hours. We've taken a hard look at our processes internally and we have made changes to make sure that won't happen again.

We do want to continue involving mumsnetters as much as possible though both in our testing and prototypes which means we will continue to iterate and ask for feedback and our first releases are unlikely to be the finished product as such.

Thank you for sticking by us Thanks

I am in the exact same position. iPhone 5s iOS 7.1.2 and the new mobile site is completely unusable. I have had to revert to the app (ick).

Please please fix this. Confused

Well I think I may have cracked it... Looking at your URL I spotted it started with m.mumsnet.com instead of //www.mumsnet.com.

Have a try at this url:
www.mumsnet.com/Talk/site_stuff/2171325-Mobile-site-still-freezing-on-my-phone?

If that works for you I think we might have got to the bottom of it

Thank you Ehric, especially for the extra info. I have a theory which I'm about to try out. Bear with me...

EhricLovesTheBhrothers, maybe you're having trouble on your phone and I am sure that's frustrating for you, but did you mean to be so rude?

"this is actually unusable" It's not though, is it? I am using it now, on an iPhone and it's working fine. I don't know for sure, but I'm guessing it's probably being used by quite a lot of people.

"unusable for me and thousands others" Who are these thousands of others? There certainly were complaints in the first few days (though I tried it on an iPhone 5, an iPad and an Anrdoid phone and all worked fine), but now they've slowed to a trickle. If it's unuseable by thousands where are their comments saying that?

"I mean literally unusable, not just annoyingly crap. What the fucking fuck were you playing at? This mobile site is a total pile of shit. Sorry, but it is. All the crap changes to functionality were bad enough, the knock on effect on the desktop site was annoying, but this is actually unusable".

I assume this site was built by real people, rather than feelingless robots. Would you speak to someone like this in person because you were having problems accessing a (free) website?

I am amazed that anyone from MNHQ has chosen to reply to you.

Ok. I'm using 3G but will switch to wifi to test. The URL is whatever URL of the thread I'm trying to post on! I'm going to c&p from my phone then switch to desktop to post it on here.
When it happens, as if said, I am trying to post. So I've written a post and click on 'post message'

Hi oodlives,
Thank you for coming on to let us know, could one of you be so kind as to check which precise iOS version it is? 7.1.2 for example?

(just for our own peace of mind this post is posted from an iPhone 5, safari)

We do have lots of people of successfully posting from iPhones so we are really keen to see what's unusual about your particular device, network, settings or usage.
