My family and I have moved recently to Fulham/London coming from Dubai. My two children (the boy is 11 and the girl is 7 years old ) go to Sulivan school (which Im not very impressed with!) . My 11 year old needs to join a secondary school next year and Im so confused about public and private schools in London .I didn't feel that the local secondary ones are our choice because they seem somehow like Sulivan school .The good schools like Holland park school would not possibly accept him because of the distance !shall I quit looking for public schools and try with the private ones ?
Advice me on what to do .

What is wrong with Sullivan? No personal experience but I have spoken to people with kids there who are very happy with it. Not quite sure what you are expecting.

What exactly can Holland Park offer that other schools can't? Did you go to the open day last week and fall for the hype? It sounds like you are looking very superficially. I would start with your boroughs transfer to secondary booklet which is on their website and then look at those for adjacent boroughs, which do you have a chance of getting into? Dies your sin have music or art aptitude. Where possible go and see the schools. Please don't make your judgement based on hearsay.

There are some good private schools in west and central London but again you need to visit them ASAP. Your son needs to give his opinion as well.
