St Marylebone School, Westminster. Is it really as amazing as people say it is?

I have heard lots of great things about St Marylebone recently. One of our close family friends started year 7 there this September, they say it's fantastic and say the quality of teaching is better than at their son's private school.

Is it really this good? Just interested about this school, seems like a hidden gem??

No problems with asserting identity, being antisocial or mollycoddling. In fact the opposite plenty partying already, I'm just not keen on there being any more to the detriment of A level work!

Visited the school, and am concerned there is no canteen/dining area for the girls. There is much to be said for enjoying a cooked meal together. For those currently attending St Marylebone: do you miss not having a dining room? Where do you eat? Do you miss having the opportunity to have a hot meal during the winter months?

I'm bumping this thread, and would be very grateful for any views or experience about the sixth form there, both on the academic side and on the student culture and school pastoral side.

My twins have just got into St Marylebone Y7 for 2018, very excited... although my DD is really scared about leaving her school as her school friends are all boys and going elsewhere, any tips would be great on this as she's super shy. Want her to feel positive about starting in a new place...

Also if there are any other parents in the area with kids joining in September, maybe would be good to arrange a meet up?

St Marylebone bullying post - mumsnet
Our daughter and several other girls in our daughters year are the victims of some unacceptable large scale bullying behaviour involving large groups of intimidating and often over privileges girls who should know better. The school are aware but we are yet to see any significant change in approach from the school that will ensure that these bullies are held to account and that this toxic behaviour is brought to an end.. This is really damaging our girls mental health. Not clear if we are just unfortunate in our year or whether it's the entire school.
