Is your school pushing the AQA Baccalaureate for 6th Form?

DS's school were pushing the extra bits in 6th Form so that the students all get the new AQA Baccalaureate. I had heard of the GCSE level English Bacc, but

DO you think the Uni's will be rating this?

Details here for those who have not heard.

Yes, DSs comp are in their third year of offering it now. It was targetted at the most academic, but did have a timetabling clash with Further Maths. I wondered if it was more appropriate for students interested in the Humanities rather than Maths/Science? (only because of the timetabling clash)

Anecdotally, extended projects are getting increasingly popular with some universities as they are helping them to distinguish between lots of high grade candidates.

English Bacc is a league table measure, AQA bacc is a qualification where successful candidates will be given the appropriate certificate.

we push it. but the kids hate having to do critical thinking or citizenship, particularly the really academic ones who resent the time it takes away from their preferred AS choices.
We area high achieving comp, but don't send many to oxbridge so wonder if that was the thinking behind pushing it to students?

But DS IS at a Grammar (23 Oxbridge offers this year) and they are really keen on it!

My DS does not want to do Critical Thinking, but may be interested in the projects.

Sounds interesting, I hadn't heard about it so thanks for posting. I guess it could be quite helpful for students who are aiming higher but at bog standard schools. I can't see it making much difference for students applying for uni from grammar or independent schools.
