Bad kiss on second date

Hi,

I went on a second date with a guy, we got on well and he put thought into our date plans but we kissed at the end of the night and it was not good! Any advice? Should I move on now or persist? He text and said he really enjoyed the date and kiss and asked to meet again...

I went through quite a difficult break up of a longterm relationship so am.only finding my feet in the dating world again.

I think it depends. Sometimes you can have a guy who is open to some critique if you try and explain something was missing and ask to try again taking your time and maybe allowing him to copy you.

However, if you are talking someone who kisses you whilst washing your hair at the same time? Nah, I couldn’t.

Ew. Is there anything worse than a bad kisser? Move on.

I need to know what an amazing kiss is! I’ve never had one ! DH is love,y and all that but I’m now properly jealous.

Treat it like sex and ask him if he could kiss you like you like it.

@Nev85

I recently joined a hobby that he is also at...

My DH asked me out multiple times before I said yes. I really liked him but didn’t want to make it awkward if it didn’t work out because we went to the same club. It obviously all worked out for me as he’s now my DH and we’re expecting DD2 but I can imagine it would have been so awkward if we hadn’t worked out.

Just let him know that you're not feeling it and best you leave it there. All the best for the future type of thing.

@IveSeenThings

I have had very mediocre sex after the most amazing kissing...so I don't think it necessarily is linked.
My best kisser was the best sex though.... thanks DH

Same! Major disappointment ☹️

I think you can tell a lot by how someone kisses you. I mean, how in tune they are with what's appropriate for the moment. I definitely wouldn't be slobbering over someone, surely a first kiss should be somewhere between tentertive and passionate? I'd go for hand on cheek, and a lingering peck to start with, see how that was received. If someone rammed their tongue down my throat, i'd feel like they weren't in tune with where I was at.

i’m a terrible kisser because i never do it, think it’s disgusting but i’m dynamite in bed Grin

Grin Grin

Wonder where he got the idea that slobbering your face was the way to go, op?

Sorry but I vote for bin him. My first kiss with my husband was AMAZING. Made my knees weak and my fanny flutter. We used to spend hours kissing.

Yep, me too. Exh was an amazing kisser, properly made me swoon the first times we kissed. The sex was very 'meh'. Dp is an average kisser, pleasant enough but no swooning, but the absolute best ever in bed. The kissing isn't always a good indicator of how the sex will be. Saying that, OP's description of this particular kiss sounds utterly dreadful!

It's a tricky one...if it was s good kiss I'd have no problem meeting him again...it reminded me of a teenage disco kiss!

Sounds horrendous but Exh was a fantastic kisser, but abusive. I miss the kissing!

Could he have been over excited so there was a mismatch in passion? Just trying to see if there is anything to salvage but it is important.

Tough one! Like a couple of people have said, I was going to say give him another chance. After your update I’m not quite so sure!

The guy I’m seeing now wasn’t the best kisser the first time. He just kind of pecked me on the lips over and over. I was disappointed as wanted sparks to fly, but it left me cold. Had another date and the next kiss was wonderful. He was actually a really good kisser and sparks do fly when we kiss now. I think it was just a rushed, nervous kiss the first time.

My ex was a bad kisser too. We didn’t often kiss unless it was going to turn into sex. He used to just shove his tongue down my throat over and over Confused

It’s a deal breaker for me now but I’d always give a second chance. Would you have the Hakka to tell him to close his mouth a bit? 🤣

I dated a man who kissed me on our second date. It was horrible - he forced his tongue into my mouth and his buck teeth gnashed against my mouth.

Also, his boiler had broken and he was too tight to have it mended, so he didn't use his washing machine. His jumper smelled fusty.

He took me back to his house and I made my excuses after he removed his trainers and the stench of his rancid feet made me gag.

Also, he had made his own DIY sofa out of corduroy.
