We've been together a few months and I do really enjoy sex with him but do we really need to talk about it everytime we're apart.

I've enjoyed this sort of thing early in a relationship but I was very clearly enthusiastic about reciprocating. If you're not keen, he needs to know (or be more aware of your responses). Is he ignoring subtle hints that you're less enthusiastic? If so, I'd tell him once. If he doesn't respect this, it's a huge red flag.
