My older sister is going through the ringer at the moment, after 5 months of marriage counselling her dumb ass (immature) husband has decided to call it quits on the marriage and is ready to call it a day. I honestly don't know what to say to her to comfort her. We;ve been on the phone together for the past hour and she's been crying and i've been trying not to be quiet but don't think i've been and help to her. please if anyone has any words of wisdom to give me please share because I'm ringing her in the am and would love to be of some help to her (sad)

I think all you can do is listen, support whatever it is she wants to do, offer practical help
like visits, meals and just be available to talk when she needs it. If she's really struggling and/or you think it's dragging on, you could recommend seeing a GP perhaps.

What you probably should resist is talking down the ex too much. It's a tough transition to stop loving someone and she may be hoping for a reconciliation.
