Pushchairs

Egg or buffalo?

New to the world of pushchairs. Narrowed it down to two.

  1. Bugaboo buffalo. My sister has a donkey and really rates it. Pros it’s a good size. Tyres suitable for some off road and beach paths. Large basket. Cons. Big and bulky. Not that beautiful to look at.

  1. The egg. Pros. Beautiful design and colours. Folds up small. Decent Chunky tyres. Mechanisms look easy to use. Cons. Smaller. Basket collapses when folded. Not many about.

Has anyone got experience of either? What would you recommend?

I’ll do car journeys. No public transport (no underground etc). Lots of outside activity.

Thanks! Smile

I'd go for the buffalo because I prefer the wheels. Also literally every other mum has an egg where I live.

I have the buffalo and I love it, not seen another I’d have instead

The 2 things that I don’t like about it are,

  • the raincover as it’s really tight to get on but they’ve changed the design slightly so hopefully this is fixed.
  • it’s very bulky but I store in the boot so don’t need to find room in the house and I always separate the 2 parts, it does fold nicely whole but I find it much simpler to click the top off than lift the thing whole.

I believe that no pushchair is perfect though and the good things about it far outweigh the niggles. Love the carrycot as it’s actually big enough that you’ll get the 6 months use before you’re put them in pushchair.

I have the Buffalo.

Love it. We spend loads of time outdoors (live in an a rural part of Australia, where outdoorsy stuff is just about all there is to do!) and we've never had an issue with it.

We have the Baby Jogger City Mini also for when we don't need a pram so big/bulky/heavy duty.

I've got the Egg and I do love it, I wouldn't say its that compact when folded though, DS is still in it now and just approaching 1yo but he is starting to look too big for it and when he naps in it the foot rest bit doesn't go very flat, if that makes sense! Easy to push and the extendable handle is handy, knowing what I know now I'm not sure if I would spend so much on a pushchair again to be honest. Also had to buy adapters to be able to use car seat on base, but didn't end up using them very often as fiddly to get off especially on your own.
