see here - Lacanche cooker

I have no idea what numbers of people I would need to be feeding with untold and unimagined culinary delights to ever need such a beast, but by gum it's gorgeous.

Lovely - in burgundy too. Not for me though.

I will however but £3.72 for Hassled's tabby, so she she can start her range cooker fund.

BLOOOOOOODY HELL!

A friend of mine was talking about cookers this week as we are having a new kitchen, and suggested this cooker as it's the one they have (but not in blue). I had no idea it cost so much. He must think I'm made of money!

That's gorgeous and so is your cooker Sabire.

Couldn't justify the £££ but bugger me backwards, it is gorgeous

Oh lovely!

I like a nice cooker.

I've got one of these:
here in black. It's the business.

Shame it looks like a peacock on a dunghill in my hideous kitchen (all of the other furniture comes from a skip or from Ikea).

oh wheels, that's the point exactly! Why would you ruin something so beautiful by making it actually work?

Report
TheWheelsOnTheBusHaveFallenOff · 01/11/2009 22:08

oh but it could be minimalist as I wouldn't be able to afford to eat anyway if I bought it so no food in piles or nasty plates and bowls messing the place up. added advantage would be that the beauteous cooker would never be sullied with actual food and could just be admired in original state forever...

PMSL at 'exceptionally long'

Sadly my reproductive days are over. I may need to rethink. What do you reckon a striking, exceptionally long, tabby cat goes for these days?

After all, hassled, you can always produce a replacement child - harder to replace a cooker

What is the market like for secondhand children nowadays? Can you really get that much for them ?

LordVetinarisApprentice · 01/11/2009 21:54

totally worth it hassled.

Yes WickedWitch, that was the one!

I have to have that cooker. I may need to sell a child, but I have too many anyway...

LOL Squiggle, I like 'The gym has a glass roof - retractable, for exercising under the stars' - thank goodness for that, you wouldn't want to exercise under a roof like the plebs

haha stealth that was a brilliant episode. They were complete twats! I seem to recall that they had to pull a wall down that they built illegally? Or am I confused?

It is a beauty. I have to admit to lusting after an aga. However my environmentally friendly hat is wedged on too hard! (the fact that we couldn't afford/fit one in is irrelevant)

No cupboards also = nowhere to keep stuff = anything but chic minimalism (in our house, at least - DD's favourite answer to "where is..." is "in a pile, Mummy")

£5K on a tap is easier than you would think - even bog-standard ones can be £300+ (our was not quite four figures, but close - DH chose it )

Is very lovely but not sure about the blue. Also difficult with dual fuel in leccy only household. wouldn't let that put me off though

were they the couple who had spent about 5 grand on a tap?! now that was silly. I feel more justified already.

no cupboards = minimal chic surely?

It was this house although it doesn't give details of the cooker - I remember it because I found the couple so annoying...

Report
stealthsquiggle · 01/11/2009 21:36

If you were to blow the entire budget on it. you might come to regret the complete lack of cupboards/sink/lights at some stage, I feel.

It' not the biggest I have seen - did anyone else see that episode of Grand Designs where idiot couple had a £35K 'cooking centre' - when they did Grand Designs revisited it was clear that it had only ever been used by visiting caterers warming stuff up.
