Does anyone know roughly how must it costs to move a megaflow and boiler?

I'd like to move them from the utility to the back of the garage, I guess this is a max distance of 8metres.
We've been quoted £2k which my dh thinks is a lot, but he isn't in the habit of buying this kind of thing ;)
Anyone any idea of the going rate?
We are in the south.

We paid 1500ish to move a combi boiler to a room next door (literally the other side of the wall). We were quoted for up to 2.5k by some.

2k sounds reasonable

Thanks Pigletjohn. Great to get a qualified view it's impossible to gauge when you know nothing!

It sounds a bit high, but not amazing.

It depends how they are going to take up and reinstate your floors to run the pipes. You need gas-safe qualification for the boiler and G3 for the cylinder, so it may be priced for a fully qualified person to do all the work, perhaps an independent trader who does not have a cheaper assistant.

It will need two people anyway due to the weight.

You might get a better deal in summer when people lose interest in heating and trade is slack.
