What is your favourite thing in your house?

Apart from your family!

And where did you get it from?

It can be anything from a home appliance, a piece of furniture, the tiles in your bathroom or your patio lights. I'm looking for inspiration for our new home and I'd love to hear your thoughts about what's worked really well for you. Thanks!

I have lots...I adore our spiral staircase, log burner, Rayburn, wood beams and just the quirkiness of this house. Suits us to the ground.

I've thought of another favourite that I have: a pulleymaid in the utility room. It actually makes washing fun!!

Well worth considering then. They've probably improved somewhat in ten years! Thanks

The projector itself is very old now - nearly 10 years. It isn't as good as a hd film on hd TV but gives anything else a very good run for its money.

Are you happy with your projector skaen? I'm wondering if the picture quality is the same as a TV screen....

Bliss.

Our projector. We have white walls in the sitting room and a big sofa bed opposite the fireplace with a projector above it. We all cuddle up in bed with a duvet plus popcorn to have cinema night.

My bed; Vi Sprung mattress, goose down duvet & pillows & Egyptian Cotton.
Cost per use is pennies & it's so worth it.

My kitchen table seats 8 and was a bargain from Homebase, it was reduced to clear when we moved into our new home,we couldn't believe our luck.
It actually cost more to buy the 8 slate placemats and coasters that go on the table. Our last house didn't have room for a kitchen table so have one that's seats 8 is just fab.

I love the paint colour in my living room (Little & Greene Celestial blue) its just so divine!

I also love the fact I have turned the spare room into my own dressing room with wardrobe, dressing table etc. My own take on a walk in wardrobe Grin

I've got two, one of which is part of the house and one of which is furniture.

In the hallway, there is a carving of a face which I think is original (late Victorian terraced house) and it makes me happy every time I remember to look up and actually notice it.

The other is my second hand writing bureau - I'd wanted one ever since I was a very bookish six year old, and finally got one this year.

My front door - solid wood, painted gloss purple and with etched glass windows. I got it through Voysey & Jones and it was a replacement for the horrible UPVC door the house had when I bought it, so it has really increased the kerb appeal. And has a larger than average letter box to take all my online shopping deliveries! Grin

Our oak dining table. It's old, been in DH's family for over a 100 years. It is so versatile; it's round with drop leaves so can fit a small space, but it has four leaves so that it can seat 10-12 when fully extended. Right now I have 2 leaves in and using it as a desk for a big project for work.

My sofa.

It's nothing fancy, just a DFS one like this my sofa but I love it, it's so squishy and comfy and I just love cuddling up in the corner each evening. People tend to fall asleep on my sofa!

My current favourite thing is my new footstool. I had a search set up on Ebay for months but nothing came up. Then about a month ago dh and I went to a local antiques fair and I saw a hideous footstool and decided I could up cycle it (with no previous desire or experience in this area). I stripped the varnish off it and reupholstered it and it looks bloody amazing if I do say so myself - also it's super comfy too Grin I'm still feeling smug about it several weeks after finishing the project.

I love my wood burner. It's in the kitchen/diner and we spend most of our time in there. I also love my sewing room- I can just about see the sea Smile
