We're about to have our kitchen totally redone (eek!) and just have to make a decision between two plans. However DH are disagreeing on the design.
We have a tiny galley kitchen (old Victorian terrace house) which currently has the fridge/freezer on the immediate left as you enter, oven next to it, the sink in front beneath one of two windows and the door to the garden to the right. One design keeps this as it is.
The second design moves the sink to the right so it's beneath the other window.
The second design would give us a bit more worktop space but my concern is this - where the sink is now means you can look up our (IMO lovely) 100ft garden. Moving the sink beneath the other window means you'd be looking directly at a brick wall that doesn't get much light at any time of year.
DH is arguing that since we're getting a slimline dishwasher put in we won't be spending much time at the sink anyway, and this second design will give us more space. But my concern is that we're wasting a lovely view (the garden is a real asset to an otherwise tiny house) and my gut instinct says keep it as it is.
We're planning on selling in a year or so anyway so I guess it's not just what suits us - we have to think of potential buyers.
So...any thoughts please? If you were us, what would you do? If you were buying, what would you be looking for?
Thanks
