Oak Furniture Land - any experiences?

We are looking for some furniture to match the Victorian house we are moving to (this week!) and have visited Oak Furniture Land. Like every other place, they have a sale on and some interest free options. I like the look and feel of the stuff but wondered if anyone had bought anything from there. The range we are looking at is the rustic oak. Thanking you all (again)!

How funny to have a thread full of praise and then an 'ex-employee' comes on to tell everyone how crap it all is!

I have a sideboard from there and its lovely - have had it two years and still looks new. As a PP said, its ridiculously heavy!

Why was it a failed delivery and I don't understand the 'only told half the wardrobe was on the van', sorry. My own experience was that they were great. Love our new bed from there.

Get a refund as soon as possible - We have had the worst possible experience with OFL- everything that AntiOFL says is exactly what we have experienced - I have 7 pieces of unusable (fairly ugly looking) furniture in my house with no clue as to when our issues will be resolved - the last 9 weeks have been hell and the worst thing is while the furniture is sitting in our house being unused we still have to pay the finance company!!!!! Every single piece of furniture from a full dining and living room range has had extensive remedial work on but still it looks nothing like its 'Showroom standard'.
Buy from someone else, seriously, saving £50 or £100 is not worth what we have endured these last 9 weeks!

Thought I would let you know our experiences with oak furniture land, We spent over £7000 with this company. I had to postpone the initial delivery due to moving house, the move was postponed for roughly 3 months so i had to have the furniture delivered to my now
old address before we moved, I should of checked the furniture there and then, but i didn't want to unpack it all only to repack everything back up ready to move again as there was roughly 30 boxes.


One of the pieces of furniture a draw in a unit was damaged when I unpacked it from its original packaging at the new property on about 18-19th august. the packaging was not damaged when I unpacked the item. I phoned oak furniture land explained the situation and they told me to phone the care line as I had also taken out extra accidental damage
coverage. I| rang care line who advised me I couldn't claim as it wasn't accidental damage and I had a 12 month manufacturers warranty guarantee and to get back in touch with oak furniture land. So I rang furniture land back up and was advised to respond to an email they had sent providing them with photos of the damage and they would be back within two days with a resolution. four days passed so I rang oak furniture land back explained the situation again and was told they had made the decision the damage wasn't a manufacturers fault and because of the following points there was nothing they could do. So I am left
with a defective piece of furniture nobody is willing to take responsibility for to rectify.
Is there anyway you could look into this to try and get this resolved for me I would be
eternally grateful.

(1)i hadn't opened and checked each item when it was delivered
(my answer)I know I should of opened each item, but I didn't want to unpack every item only to repackage everything back up ready to move


(2)the item was discounted when I purchased it.
(my answer)The item was on a promotional sale. It shouldn't matter whether the item was discounted or not, they did't advise me when I brought it that it's discounted and could be damaged as I would't buy a damaged item.


(3)because I had moved property the damage must of been sustained then so oak furniture land were not responsible
(my answer)The contents of my house were removed by a reputable company (Pickfords) and pickfords caused no damage to any of my posessions during the relocation.

I found a companyhat sells simular peices of nice oak furniture called londonfurniturestore they deliverd to me quickly i orderd a bed a cupboard and a kitche island the company is located in my city :)

Bought a TV Cabinet in January 2016. By July 2017 it had a massive crack. Called their customer service, and they refuse to get it fixed. They blamed it on the same furniture polish that has been used for years on other oak and pine furniture. Unbelieveable. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE....DO NOT BUY from this BAD COMPANY!

I bought a coffee table, side board , book case and ' free mirror' 4 years ago. Excellent quality and good value.

I bought dining table, coffee table tv stand and two cupboards salesmen were really helpful in matching bits from two ranges four years on dh still says cor they were worth the money on a very regular irritating basis.

We ordered wardrobes from them that wouldn't fit up the stairs.... delivery guys gave it a good go and said it would be no problem for them to be taken back. Spoke to OFL many times and they offered just a 150 refund (we spend £500) and it took weeks of calls, social media posts and threats of trading standards for them to agree to take them back. Quality of the wardrobes isn't great much of it manufactured in india and glued together. Much better to go to an independent retailer if you can afford it...

I don't know about any of the other issues but MIL bought an oak dining table and chairs - they're so bloody heavy!! DP has to tuck me in and let me out again like I'm a child!

I bought bedroom furniture from them last year. I asked for reassurance that it was not flat-packed and that no home assembly was required as I'm a single parent and can't lift heavy furniture by myself. They said the wardrobe came in two pieces but would be assembled by the delivery team. When it was delivered, the men said it wasn't their job to assemble it and refused to do it. Spoke to their manager, spoke to the shop I ordered if from, but no joy. I had to get a neighbour to come in and help me.

Huge contrast to the lovely, independent furniture shop I'd previously used who always assembled everything. Sadly, they went out of business, probably because they were undercut by big chains like Oak Furniture Land.

Dp works for a furniture company and this thread has confirmed everything he has said about them. Poorly made, and zilch after sales care. And then his company struggle to sell their made in the UK and finished in the UK products due to cowboys like this.

We had terrible problems with customer services of Oak Furniture Land. The furniture is good but if there is a problem they are really unhelpful and don't want to know. Our nest of tables arrived in poor condition. We sent in photos of the faults and they just said they look fine to us so we won't do anything about it. They wouldn't let us take them into the store to show them the faults and just basically said too bad we're not going to do anything. They didn't care about customer satisfaction or the firm's reputation.

Terrible customer service and care.
My lovely leather couches I bought from them developed a lump in each seat cushion only a month after the guarantee was up the springs were coming through. They don't give a crap, and I expect a leather set to last longer than 13 months seeing they offered for me to pay for them over three years.
So Dh had to pull the whole thing apart and remove the broken springs and replace with layers of thick foam, its actually more comfortable now, but we had planned on buying more, we need a table and chairs plus more. I will never buy from them again.

We bought an Oak Furniture Land. Dining room table and chairs in 2013 Nov. We have been happy with sales and the product until recently. Within the space of a few months the foam padding in the leather seats has sort of crumbled and sitting on the chairs is uncomfortable.
Remembering the good service we have had I thought I would contact them.
While explaining the problem to customer service I was informed that the product is guaranteed for one year only and as I never took out a five year plan at extra cost nothing could be done.
But I added ,this is a structural defect affecting all six chairs. I was assured it was not and nobody else had complained about it and the answer is the same.
I find this a very disappointing conclusion as they were not even interested enough to look at one.

We have two sideboards a tv unit and some small tables, all really nice. Thinking of getting some bedroom furniture but haven't been into a showroom to look at the quality, just took pot luck on the living room stuff which turned out well .

We looked at some dining sets in OFL but I wasn't keen on the grooves (to enable the extending bit)- I thought they'd collect food. The salesperson's advice? A lot of customers mention it, we recommend a handheld vacuum cleaner

We went to a small independent oak warehouse (in the NW if anyone needs one) which was fantastic. Furniture made to your specifications on site. Really pleased with the quality and service. Table assembled by delivery men.
Extending table with 4 chairs was £700.

We bought a very large extendable rustic oak table 3 years ago and the quality is fantastic.
