Contenplating painting the wall behind the sofa dark grey and putting up lots of pictures and prints in frame and the odd wall ornament too.

Does anyone else have this? Anyone recommend any cheap places for wall hangings?

We bought a shelf from Ikea which is really narrow, more like a lip and fits photos on it beautifully. It's brilliant behind a sofa as there's no overhang. Then we bought all sorts of frames, but they had to be black and it looks great!

Ooh glad it works for most. Have been getting inspiration from Pinterest.

Im unsure as to what to do with my sofa as its a brown colour (looks like a mug of not too milky coffee), sanded wood floors and wooden (beech) furniture. But we do have a grey armchair that goes so im hoping the wall wont look too odd - its very dark - Crowns Film Noir.

Yes, in the hall. all black and white photos and black frames mostly from IKEA, some a bit posher, all different shapes and sizes. I think it looks lovely... wedding photos, family and friends, DD when a baby, then a bit bigger etc...

Yes, I had one in my old house in the kitchen but with photos. Got lots of little matching frames from Wilkinson's in different sizes and arranged them on the wall close together. The frames made it look non studenty.

Yes. Wilkos is brilliant for picture frames. Also matalan. Some look cheap (avoid) but some look really expensive (buy buy buy!)
