...where are they up to at this point in the school year? Are they doing lots of homework or not very much? How much feedback do you get as to their progress?

Sorry loads of questions but just wondering what is about normal in terms of progress by this point in P1.

TIA

DS is in P1. From August - Christmas he had a sound a day, they have now done all those, and have moved on to tricky words. He gets very little homeowrk, he had his sound sheets for each sound but that's about it. No reading book so far. They do a lot of maths in the class, number families etc. Only feedback has been at parents evening.

My dd21 is in P1 and this week she has a reading book, some words in a jotter and a worksheet, that was yesterday and todays homework . Tomorrow she has another reading book and a tricky words box, Thursday there is a worksheet on the reading book and Friday is O.R.T stage 3 words.

From August-the Christmas holidays she had a letter/sound a day to practise and say, plus a reading book. They have now learnt all their letters and sounds and have finished stage 2.

We have a yellow book which has written in it what the homework is and we have to sign it before she takes it back in the morning to say it's been done.

In class they are putting together sentences.
They are learning numbers as well but she doesn't get any homework home on numbers yet.
