Address on application date, offer date or start date?

My Sil has 2 children.

One is 3 and she needs to apply for her reception place by 15th January 2016 to start school September 2016.

The other child is due to start secondary school in September 2017 so will need to apply by October 2016.

They have their house up for sale but not had much interest yet.

If they do sell and move what address would the LEA take into account?

The address on application date, offer of school place date or start date at school. The LEA is Coventry.

Thanks

It's the address they are at, at the time of application. For both.

Thanks. For primary their current address is nearest to first choice school. Secondary though they want to move to within the catchment area.

Not entirely sure what you mean but for Reception allocations they will only take the address at the time of application in January. See www.coventry.gov.uk/info/148/school_admissions/114/primary_school_admissions/4 . Some LAs allow a short window after this deadline to amend the address if you move but not Coventry it would seem.
