Primary teacher? Do you use SIMS and Raise online?

Quick poll - at your school, as a teacher do you have access to SIMS and / or Raise online? In particular, for access to assessment data?

Thank you!

Thank you for further replies Smile.

So, so far, everyone either has direct access to SIMS (or other similar system), or is fed back as much data as they feel they need...hmm....

Am worried that at the school the Head and Deputy are very shy about sharing assessment data, either with the governors or with the teachers...trying to figure out why...one teacher suspects they are fiddling the data...was wondering whether not giving teachers access to SIMS was also a cause for concern, or whether it's not that unusual...

The problem can be that SIMS also contains all staff/ pupil details.
On census day now (Oct 4th this year) everything on sims, attendence, roll, fsm, lac etc decides the school budget for the year.

We now use integris but I think SIMS is the same that if you allow data access you allow staff to view/ edit student details etc. One member of staff with little ICT training/ skills suddenly has the power to accidently take children off roll, change fsm status and all sorts of mess that is easily done with clicking around. They can also view information that possibly wouldn't be available to all staff with good reason, eg knowing all the LAC kids/ FSM across the school rather than just in your class. It's not that they don't want anyone to see it, it's just not good practice to have such data easily accessed (...stored on a memory stick and lost...)

Quite possibly it isn't shared as they aren't quite on top of it! It's a big job and can slide...

We use something different now for our data and we can all see all the school's data and input it for our class and look at trends etc as well as work out how much progress the children have made.
We did use to use SIMs, but we had different log ins to the office staff so could only do things for our class and there's no way we had the authority to remove children etc.
Raise gets shared with us or we can look if we are interested!
Surely the class teachers are the ones who know the levels of the children. How can the head know? My head only knows what I tell her apart from Y6 sats results and these can't be fiddled.
