Before i start can i ust say this is in no way a great problem or issue i'm just interested in what others think about this.
My dd is very bright and doing well at school,dd tends to go in fits and starts with her learning, tends to be what ever she is interested in at that particulair point.
DD has recently started year 1,when dd left reception got all 8's and 9's for her numeracy.DD has enjoyed numeracy up until this point and was doing simple calculations before starting reception, such as adding numbers up to 10 and some times tables.
However this week they have been doing simple mental maths and dd hasnt been doing too well, this isnt like her,say for example they had 10 simple mental sums(the sort of thing dd could do a good 18mths ago) dd has been getting 5-6 or around that(she has been telling me this)when i have asked her why she has said because they are too easy.
My head is telling me that surely this cant be the case because she would be getting them all right if this were so but on the other hand she could do this ages ago so why would she suddenly find this difficult
any thoughts?
