Can anyone recommend a good brand for plus sized uniform

I’ve got a huge eleven year old. Tracking 91st centile for weight, 96th height, recently got a letter saying he has tipped 1% into the overweight category, so I’m aware he is too big and we are gently working on it with good food choices and more activity.

Right now though he doesn’t fit his school uniform and I need him to 🤦🏻‍♀️. He has an absolute bubble-butt on him that the Kardashian’s would kill for. So that’s not helping the fit around the waist and backside. The 13-14 aged shorts he wore last year don’t fit and we went into Tesco last night and they had nothing bigger and no shorts in the ‘generous fit’ section. I either need to go elsewhere or order online. Any recommendations please?

You could try m&s or next? They have roomier leggings and are more comfortable for DD.

Asda and Matalan both sell black trousers in mens sizes and short length so these could work. Amazon sell generous fit school shorts.

These were excellent for us with a very similar DS - he was always over 90% on height and around 95% on weight and, to be quite frank, was noticeably and significantly too large. The main benefit is that the waist is extremely stretchy and flexible. In fact, he still wears them as he found them very comfortable but now they're a bit loose even though he's not in the slightest bit overweight at all any more.

Sorry, this was niggling at me and I couldn't work out why so went to check - I remembered that at his biggest, I bought these exact trousers, but in the "Sturdy" fit. Then, as he shrunk down, I adjusted as necessary. So slightly bigger ones but that I had to take up in the standard fit. Now he just wears the standard fit in standard length but for a bigger age (he's 5ft6 and not even 13 yet... so I buy him the size 14 ones.) but they are a bit loose on the waist.

But the basic premise of the waist band being far more flexible than normal, and certainly than any of the supermarket/M&S versions, is true for both the sturdy fit and the regular fit. In fact, going back to my orders from 2017, I can see that I actually was able to buy sturdy fit with a short leg. That was when DS was, not to put too fine a point on it, blatantly fat (even if he was also tall).

I also seem to recall that because I bought on Amazon, I think I sent a few pairs back if they were too big/too small.

I really can't recommend these enough. A few months ago I went through and realised how many pairs of "sturdy" fit, "plus size" etc trousers from every supermarket I had... NONE of which had been worn. I dont know why I didn't take them back - I think I constantly hoped they would work in some miraculous fashion.
