Same here - massive bump, massive all over - baba was 5lb 3oz full term. Thought I had done something wrong but consultant discovered that I only had a two vessel chord instead of three so my baby was not being nourished properly in the last few weeks.

Thanks for all your replies - i feel a little better but still think that I'm having another whopper. First was by emergency c-section due to placenta praevia but was hoping to deliver normally this time - may not be able to if too big!!

Toothache - ½ digit = num lock on then 0189 on keypad!!

Try not to worry spilla. DS was 9 lb 10 oz and I was told to expect a bigger second baby. DD was born 8 lb 12 oz. And having had the way prepared by a big baby, I found DD's birth very easy. The second stage was less than 5 minutes compared with above 2 hours for DS.

I had a big bump. And put on 4.5 stones (at least).

And out came 6lb 1oz DS

Spilla - I was MASSIVE with dd! I was as big with dd at 32wks as I was with ds at term... yet they both weighed 7lb!

But with your history of big babies I imagine you're brewing another whopper! How was the birth of your ds? Is it something specific you're worried about?

And how did you do the 'half' digit???!?!

I think a lot depends on your size too. I'm quite too, so tend to have a smaller bump, as there's more length size to me...

However, I do have a bigger bump this time, but I know this little lady (am due 22.05.05) is a bit bigger than DS is.

Another of my friends who is tall also, had no idea she was carrying a 10 lb 2 oz'er.. as she was quite tidy all along. Ouch.

Simularly, some of my friends have had huge bumps, but ended up have average (7 to 8lb babes).

Doesn't really answer your question does it. But, I guess it better to be prepared for big, than have the surprise of suddenly having a big baby to give birth to.

No, I had a massive sticky out but neat bump. My DD was 7lb 1oz born at term

Nope. Both bumps huge but children have been 7 lb 12 oz and 8 lb 4 oz which is about average I think. Have flooded the delivery room floor though . I didn't have gestational diabetes either. My mum says she was the same funnily enough, so I think that its just the way I'm designed to carry babies .

Spilla,

My experience was that the whole way through i was MASSIVE! I was measuring 3cm bigger than i should be all the way through and 3 different doctors told me on the day they induced me the "this is going to be a big baby". Went for a scan on the day of inducement and DD measured 6 1/2 pound but was born at 5lb 7oz at 39 weeks!

I had a massive bump. So big that when I reached 33 weeks my midwife sent me to see my consultant as they thought my dates could be wrong or the baby was big.

Turned out everything was normal and baby was 7lb 3oz!

I just had a huge bump!
