Recommendations for private nuchal scans in SW London?

Am 9+4 with DC3. It's been a long trot to get here. 2 miscarriages and a year and a half of trying. Don't want to bash NHS, but want a really good 12 week scan as am 38 and want to ensure that everything OK as it possibly can be.

Has anyone been to Babybond in Norbury? Have read mixed reviews on it.

Any info gratefully received.

Thanks a million. xx

I would really recommend the Womens Wellness Centre in Fulham/Chelsea, on the Fulham Roa dnear Chelsea & Westminster Hospital, they have been amazing with me and scans all cost around £100/£150.

Sorry, you won't need the CVS! You only need that if you come back high risk and decide that is what you need to do... So it's £150 for the scan and blood test.

The sonographers/doctors at FMC really are brilliant. And you will feel really well taken care of there. Good luck. Hope it goes well.

That would be more in our ball park! We're in middle of HUGE building project and pennies are scarce!

Guess best thing to do is call and see what they recommend. Like the idea that they donate all money to research/charity.

Rislip and Angel did you both have nuchal and CVS?

Not sure if I need CVS?

Mind you, am over 35. Ahem!

Although £450 rather expensive.

Thanks Angel. Had heard of the FMC and yes, getting into London isn't a problem. Will give them a call tomorrow and have a chat.

I'm another one for the Fetal Medicine Centre. I had a wonderful appointment there, after a traumatic time with my pregnancy. The doctor who scanned me was so lovely and stayed with me for about an hour doing the scan, answering questions etc. He was really great. If I ever get pregnant again I will go back there for peace of mind.

Fees here

The nuchal scan they do include the blood test so will be as accurate as you can get. They do the blood test in the morning and when you come back for your appointment, they will have the combined risk. I had a horrendous nuchal scan on the NHS and almost went to FMC for a second opinion but I opted for a CVS instead. Luckily I was at King's where Dr Nicolaides heads the unit as well so I had great care on the NHS.

Can you get into London? The Fetal Medicine Center is the best and very swanky (in Harley Street). But they are a charitable foundation so the cash you spend there gets used for research. You might get to meet the famous Doctor Nicolaides. I had an early scan as well as a late growth scans there and they give you lots of pictures and a full report. The doctors there are all lovely.
