Moles and Pregnancy - advice please

Hi

38 weeks - just been tidying up 'down there' ready for birth

and noticed that a mole I have had since I was born (it is on my bikini line) has become quite swollen.

it has not got bigger outwards but just more raised.

Has anyone had any experience of moles changing in pregnancy ??

To be honest the whole area down there is now quite swollen so i would not be surpised if it wasn't something to do with extra blook flow.

going to see MW tomorrow anyway so will check with her then.

Any advice welcome.

Count yourselves lucky all of you - I have a freaky big one that has always been hidden in my belly button, and is a sort of light milk coffee colour.

NOT ANY MORE. It is big, and brown, and my buggering bloody belly button has come out so the mole (in all its glory) has as well! Eugh....but I know that melanin does increase with preg so it not dangerous, just yukky!!

Glad yours is ok.

Right

just got back from MW and thought I would update for those ladies who are interested in this...

my mole is on my bikini line and so due to the extra blook flow around the area it become raised/swollen is normal apparently (hormonal - isn't everything in pregnancy )

MW also said that she sees lots of ladies who suddenly develop moles, some moles shrink, some darken etc. She said general advice was if a mole hasn't returned to normal after post natal check then bext to get it looked at for a precaution.

HTH.

No, I think that they are here to stay, so I will have to have the removed after the baby is born. I particularly dislike the skin tags on my neck, I think that I can live with the moles on my tummy.

Did your neck/tummy moles and skin tag go away after pregnancy or do you still have them? Do they need to be removed by the doctor - I have acquired lots as well.

I have had lots of moles appear on my tummy this pregnancy, and skin tags on my neck, yuck!

I am medium skin colour and seem to go into melanin over drive when I am pregnant!

get it checked but i'm sure it's fine. i had a new mole appear in my last pregnancy and had it removed under local anasthetic at 22 weeks. it turned out to be a broken blood vessel that had left a blood blister under the skin.

Last time I got some skin tags like sticky out mole things on my neck and the doc said it was perfectly normal

I have a raised mole on my face, Mum and my sister both commented they think it's bigger and I've noticed I've not trimmed the hair (it has head hair on it) for a few weeks. I should get it checked out, I've been meaning to post a similar thread for awhile TBH.

sure it will just be the swelling but since its a mole, its always worth having it checked out just to be on the safe side.

had a mole on my foot that i first noticed when pg, that was removed just after ds was born - turned out to be fine but am glad it was just removed really.
